Mary's sister ended her courageous battle with cancer midweek and Mary  is gone, spending time with her family.  Her sister died at the age of 62, after living with breast cancer for 5 years.  I know Mary will appreciate your kind thoughts and words during this especially difficult time.

Mary I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved sister.  Even though a loved one has been ill, the loss hits hard and fast.  Losing a family member leaves a place in your heart that feels empty at first and hurts so badly.  I am so sorry to hear of her passing and the grief you must be feeling.  You must miss her terribly.

Thanks to everyone who left a piece of themselves here to grieve with me.  I feel so empty and without words regarding this loss.  Doesn't sound much like me, eh?

I’ve been watching for hawks for weeks.  They aren't exactly scarce in OH or NC and I've seen a few.  I counted six in flight as we traveled from funeral to cemetery - two flying in tandem.  A Cooper Hawk visited outside my kitchen window within a few weeks of Mom's death in 2008.  It was bold, strong and fearless.  And comforting.

I'm trying to get back on board here and managed it last night when sleep eluded me.  I'll do my best.  There’s a lot to catch up on yet at home after sitting in cancer's limbo so long.  It sucked up the few scrapes of motivation MS had left intact.  

It's harder coming to this thread than answering questions but I do so much appreciate all your thoughts and condolences.  Thank you.

Mary, I knew something was going on, I was hoping that wasn't it. But, now I know (thanks for letting us know Lu) that cancer has ripped another precious soul away from us.  It has been such a long hard road for you, your sister, and your family.  My heart aches for you.  You have always been there for all of us (including phone calls from me), please know that we are all here for you.
