Anemia or Tiredness

I've got a quick minute before I head out the door for my T-spine and ferritin bloodwork.

I've never though to do this before, but I got online to google the number code on the top of the lab form.

I found this site that says the number  is for tiredness or lethargy.

Hmmm, the Yale dr. wanted me to do this iron treatment thing for anemia. Is there a different code for anemia? Does it mean that my pcp might be disagreeing with the Yale dr.? (He is the one requesting this lab work, I cancelled the Yale followup appt.)

Does that mean that he believes me and is not dx'g me with anemia, because that isn't the real problem?

I will never know the answers, I guess.....

But last night I found a site on anemia and MS. I also found some stuff on ferritin and demyelination. It is so very medical technical, I don't get it.

All I can say is that, today, going for the bloodwork (ferritin and TIBC), I do NOT feel any better as the Yale dr. thought I might.

I would think there isn't a connection FOR ME in  my iron intake and my other symptoms.

Talk later,
Suzanne

I agree with "Wanna," don't worry about the "code."  I have known MS and my MRI report said that I was being checked for "gait worsening,"  Acording to the "code" that was used.  That just gives the insurance company, the reason why I am having the test.

Let us know when you get the results.

Take good care,
Heather

Don't be concerned about the diagnosis codes.  As I understand it they are there for insurance purposes.  You'll find, as you go through this process, those codes go all over the map.

Good luck today!
