made it through my LP

Hi All,

I had my LP yesterday. Expecting the worst when I went in, Everything was fine. I felt nothing. I think the worst part of the whole thing was having to lay on my back in bed for 2 hours. LOL I'm not use to resting that much.

Now it's just a waiting game to get the results back and start my treatment.

Got my LP results back. Everything came up normal except for my protien which was a little low. Talk with the Dr. and she still will not dx me with MS even though my MRI was very abnormal.  I wish I could post a picture of my MRI so you all could see it.There
were so many lessions on it and one on the brain stem but yet she will not make the dx.  I go see my new neurologist on Dec 3rd so we will see if she will make a dx. This is getting so frustraiting.

I'm glad this went well for you.  Hope you are still taking it easy, as a leak can happen days later.

YAY!  That is awesome.  I hd mine done about a month & a half ago & the first day was not too bad but it got worse from there.  Every time I got up it felt like a big hammer hit me.  I was either going to pass out or puke!  I was drinking lots of fluids & even lots of caffeine but it took a little over a week of laying flat for it to go all the way away!  Take it easy & let the site heal all the way so you do not have leakage from the LP site inside your body!.  The doctor I saw for a consultation for a blood patch to fix the problems said LP headaches can last up to 6 weeks - yikes.  I know it is hard to just lay around doing nothing but what is one more day  :)

Way to Go!  You did it.  Now make sure you take it easy today, drink plenty of fluids and let someone wait on you for a change.  Tell your family you want the whole day off.

It's true that some people have the LP and never have any problems.  If you are one of those people that will be fantastic news.  But please still take my advice and rest up today.  Make some of those fluids, caffeine.  It works wonders.

You should know the results of your testing shortly.  Please keep us updated.
