I'm in a dilemma.
For the last 3 or so weeks I have been having this pain/discomfort in the rib area. The severity fluxuates, sometimes being mildly annoying and tight, and sometimes making me feel sick, and bringing me to the verge of tears. It's always in the same place, bottom of the rib cage, on the left and right side, front and back. Anyway, here's my dilemma...
I'm off my neurontin because without a dose increase I suddenly started getting wicked vertigo from the pills (after 2.5 years on it). My husband's pretty confident that this started either after I lowered my Neurontin ( to taper off) or when I stopped it, and he suggested going back on it to see if it helps.
I can't get in to see my doc until next week, at the soonest. Do you guys think I should try the Neurontin, despite the vertigo? Or just try and hang tight until I see my doc?
Ibuprophen is useless against it, OTC muscle relaxers MAY have helped very slightly last night (or maybe they just knocked me out enough I didn't care as much?), but not enough to continue to use them. And when it's more severe, the nausea is persistent. Even my anti-nausea meds sometimes don't work, but it will wear off within a couple of hours when the pain subsides a bit.
Like I said to my husband "I'm tired and sore. I have no idea what this is, and there's NOTHING I can do about it, and it's wearing me out."
Any input, thoughts ot ideas?
Christine
