thanks for all of your input!
I think the reality is that symptoms can improve as long as they improve. I don't mean to be glib, but MS fits poorly into rules. We have had people here with ON talk about improvement beyond a year. It's a lot like brain injury in kids - predictions don't hold much truth. You get what you get.
Let's hope yours continues for a long time, but you are wise to realize that the odds may be against complete recovery.

my neuro didn't really say what it was - he said he doubted it was ON because it involved both eyes in the same field, but based on the brain MRI, the new lesion didn't really "fit" the symptoms either (but we all know you can't see all MS damage on the MRI)
I have always had transient visual problems associated with migraines (auras, but the visual symptoms would always resolve as the pain of the migraine headache would come on); I thought this was actually a migraine when it first started back in April, but then when it didn't go away and I never got the headache, I realized it was instead probably an MS relapse
I've never had this exact symptom prior to this relapse. Hoping to gain more recovery, but facing the reality that it might never be back to "normal"
Hi,
Is this the first time that you have had visual problems?
My Neuro expalined to me that when I was dx over 9 years ago now, that if you have the same relapse's ie legs, TN ,ON, etc., the chances of full recovery are not 100%
So if this is the first time you have relapsed with visual problems, then in my opinion only, I would say that you have a good chance of full recovery.

Hi there,
There can be improvement with symptoms after 6 months (like you mention), but I'm not sure of what the odds/stats are specifically to the eyes. My guess it depends on the type of damage.
Was it ON? And, was it dx'd? Sorry if you've already mentioned. I know there has been past discussions in regard to your current situation.
Adding on a belated welcome to you,
Shell
