Back to square one

I feel I have taken a few steps backward since my first flare up in April.

The symptoms (leg weakness, burning/freezing cold/wet feeling in my left leg, pins & needles and the horrible L'Hermittes) have varied between just being there and letting me know they're REALLY there.

The neurologist hasn't diagnosed yet as I've had one flare so far but has had me on carbamazapine, then acetozolomide and now pregabalin (keep getting yucky side effects)

This week I seem to have had a 2nd flare up and again I'm struggling to walk, the left leg is very weak and I appear to have developed drop foot (or is it foot drop) again.

Seen my Dr yesterday and he wanted to get in touch with the neurologist to try and bump my appt up. I asked him to wait as I only started the pregabalin yesterday and my appt is first week in January anyway.  Today I'm wondering  maybe I should let him ring the consultant for me

I am feeling sorry for myself - in truth I hoped another flare up wouldn't happen

my Dr did say in his opinion it is looking more like MS and this seems to be what the neurologist was waiting to happen

thanks a mil, I'm ringing him tomorrow

at least I made my hubby laugh, I've put a pair of glittery crutches on my Xmas list and he'd been on the internet 20 minutes trying to find some before he realised as usual black humour is my way of coping

Oh, I agree with DJ here.  This is exactly what the neurologist is waiting for and he should see you when the symptoms are most active.  The pregabalin is just a med for quieting nerve pain and paresthesias.  Waiting for it to be more effective has nothing to do with telling the consultant that you are having a new wave of symptoms.

Please urge your GP to try to hurry up the appointment.

Sweetie, if it were me I'd let the Doctor make that call, some times sooner is better than later.
But the finale decision is always yours.
Sending out Loving Prayers for you and your Family {{{{{{~!~}}}}} DJ
