Back

Okay, here's a question for you guys....

Back in August and September when I was being streamrolled continually by fatigue, I noticed that it would really kick in just after I ate a meal.

It was almost like there was X amount of energy to go around and when the parasympathetic nervous system kicked in, there was little energy left for other functions.

It was a palpable and very dramatic sensation.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

Well doesn't sound like you will have to worry about the calories on Turkey day.  Enjoy it!!

I don't envy you or Wobbly, but wish you both good tests!!

my test is at 12;30 tomorrow - upper and lower... why not both at the same time..hehe

and I will remember drugs are a good thing.... my hubby will be with me..so I feel better

take care

Lool,

I won't quibble with your various kibbles and bits....  :-)

Julie,

First one.   Won't be the last either I'll reckon.  :-(

Wonkers,

Yeah, fatigue.   For a couple of months there it was exhausting to get up to go to the restroom, or __________ (insert any conceivable task)...

I hope that it improves really soon!

I think I can relate to what you are saying about how when you are fatigued, even peristalsis can be tiring!  And in line with what LuLu was saying, it now seems my "lady business" can also hog all of my body's energy.  (Not that that's ever a fun time, but now I really dread it!)

It's new to me (I still don't even like saying/writing the word "fatigue"), I didn't have this before say mid Oct., and I'm sure it's nothing compared to what others go through.

It's become much more necessary for me to budget my energy.  For example, I'm trying to shower more at night, I walk more slowly so that I can go further, etc.  I think what is also tough for me adjusting to this is my mood.  It's harder to be positive and motivated when I wake up feeling so tired.  Overall it's been a blow to my self-esteem, but hopefully I'll adjust my attitude soon.

Closing my vent now...

Good luck with the scope.  Hopefully, no sadistic tests are scheduled around the December holidays!

Have you ever endured a colonoscopy before?  If not, all I can say is drugs are your friend.  What you don't remember about that procedure, won't hurt you.  I'm with Lu, you won't have to worry about the extra pounds you packed on after the eating festivity of turkey day.

hey Opie,
I'm laughing at you because you are repeating my year - I have had so much more done because us girls have extra parts you boys don't have.  And yes, all you can do is surrender your body and let them have their way with you. I've had the upper/lower but not in a combo on the same day, and then he went back and took at extra look at my esophageal motility (swallowing!)  .....  Lool

Well, the medical community, you see, is on some sort of roll vis-à-vis my body.

They figured, collectively, kind of like the borg, that since they had looked at every other nook and cranny this year, that there was no need to stop now!

So, I'm going upper and lower GI, after Turkey Day.

I think that they're looking to see where the automotive industry bailout is going to come from....

Wow Richard, a colonoscopy after Thanksgiving - I wish I had thought of that weight loss method!  I love all the food - just can't eat it like we used to between the heart, pre-diabetes and watching what might exacerbate the MS symptoms...........  Lool

Wobbles,

Mine is after Thanksgiving...   Being a guy, I've got plenty of iron!  Some can attest to the fact that most of it is between my ears!

Doni,

Absolutely!   High fat stuff seemed to magnify the effect.   Although, sometimes the fatigue would be there for no reason at all!

I am doing okay, for the most part.

Hi Guy!!!!!

I have had this happen, and like you, it is when my fatigue is at it's worse.  Haven't ever thought about the parasympathetic nervous system.

I have wondered if it was what I had eaten that caused it, like when eating heavy meals like spagetti or something.

Seems these days the fatigue is so bad I can hardly tell what might trigger it to make it worse.

Hope you're having a good day!!!!

Hugs

Hi there... I missed you...

I seem to be very tired lately...I don't notice if it's after I eat or not... but I'm also low on Iron...just found that out... it's not storing in my system for some reason?

I'm taking supplements for it..but haven't for the past week as I'm getting a lovely colonoscopy tomorrow and can't take Iron for 10 days before that....

Hope someone else can give you some info on this... talk later.
bye for now
