Bad vision?....

Vision problems are common for most people with ms...

I see so many people TYPE IN CAPS LOCK SO IT IS EASIER FOR OTHERS TO READ... AND LOTS OF SPACES AND PARAGRAPHS ETC....

THIS MAKES IT BETTER FOR ME!

I have had ON though so I blame that... However I still had one bad eye before this.. Not sure why.

So my question is... Do we generally just have worst eye sight? Or is it that so many of us have had bouts of ON?

Just wondering... :)

HI THERE! MY LEDT EYE WAS FUNKY A FEW YEARS AGO BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE CORNEA RELATED AND NO ONE KNEW WHY

INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH WHEN MY BIG ATTACK HIT ME A FEW MONTHS AGO THAT SAME EYE IS THE ONE THAT WAS AFFECTED THE MOST

THE NEURO TELLS ME MS WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE CORNEA PROBLEM AND AFTER SURGERY ON IT 4 YEARS AGO IT HAS BEEN FINE BUT THAT EYE IS USUALLY FUNNY IN SOME WAY WITH ALLERGIES ETC

Like Laura, my arms stopped being long enough to read a long time ago :-) My MS vision problems are not optic, but nerve+muscle related.

I have nystagmus. The muscles that control my eye movement get garbled messages from the nerves that control them. For the first 2-3 minutes of every day I have double vision. My eyes are out of sync and focus on different things. Once I am fully awake they sync back up and I'm fine the rest of the day.

the spaces inbetween are because we can't handle long lines of text, cognitively.  It might be worse with all caps, so please, yes, use the spaces and break up text!

Ah.. I thought maybe there was some other known cause in MS for declining eye vision I was not aware of bc it seems so many have problems.

I LOVE CAPS LOCK! :) but I can read either way.. I just zoom it al in on thise bad days.

I have my left sight with basically perfect vision... My right eye deli end with each pregnancy it seemed ( now I wonder if it was small bouts of ON) and in April had lost an enormous amount of vision... It is mostly back.. On good days better then before :) it fluctuates mostly when I am tired.

If you are best in reading in all CAPs then let us know and we will be happy to do so.

SO MANY PLACES ON THE INTERNET CONSIDER IT TO BE A FORM OF SHOUTING BUT NOT HERE.

THE PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE WITH ON AND MS IS PRETTY HIGH BUT IT DEFINITELY IS NOT 100%  I HAVE NO VISION PROBLEMS OTHER THAN AGING AND REQUIRING READING GLASSES (2.0 MAG) THAT I CAN BUY AT THE DOLLAR STORE.

AS TO YOUR QUESTION, I WOULD THINK THAT THIS IS NOT AN ASSOCIATION OF  HAVING BAD VISION  AND THEN HAVING OPTIC NEURITIS.  POOR EYESIGHT IS MORE LIKELY CONNECTED  WITH A DIFFERENT PHYSCIAL PROBLEM THAN WITH A DEMYELINATING PROCESS.

THE REVERSE WOULD PROBABLY BE TRUE THOUGH - IF YOU HAVE ON YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE A DECLINE IN YOUR VISION AFTER AN ATTACK.
