I am enjoying some down time after the move. Things are going well. WE are having our 2 weeks of spring here on the gulf coast, and I am enjoying every minute of it! I hope that you all had a blessed Easter!
hi havent been on for a while just returned from paris euro disney for my 40th with my 12 year old son as i fear the future i wanted him to have some nice memories it was great but very tiering
I know there are others here besides GG and me who get accupuncture. I believe it is more commonly accepted in the UK than here in the US. It's good to read her confirmation that it does work for many things.
It is also good to read that most of us are just dealing with the usual life issues and not a crisis. Here's to a calm week. - L
Had my acupuncture last Thursday. Working on immune modulation, spasticity, L. knee arthritis, depression (heart points). Works like a charm every time. Down to once/month.
Monday - Yoga
Tuesday - Consultation with former guitar teacher on new piece I composed.
Wednesday- Bike ride if my balance is good.
Thursday - Yoga
Friday - get protime checked. Down to last 4 weeks of rat poison (Coumadin) after November's DVT (nothing to do with MS).
Cheers,
Guitar_grrrl
Its about time...hope it goes off with no delays.
I had my first mri today since I got my diagnosis, so we will see if there are any changes. Had one of my brain and the spine. I fell asleep in the machine, go figure!
And I am planning on partying in SF this weekend, I will just get lots of rest this weekend.
hugs, meg
Lu - that makes sense. I've considered acupuncture for the nerve pain in my left hand, but understood it wouldn't help because it's CNS driven. I might try it anyway just to see what it's like.
DV - the foot is probably a combination of both the MS and the peripheral neuropathy. My EMG showed both going on. That said - since the needle work helped bring me relief, it must have been the PN bothering me more. At least as I understand it.... -L
Great news about DJ!!! Woohoo!!!
I'm not sure what my week will bring. Hopefully a new laptop! Mine hasn't been charging for the last week or so, we bought a new cord and new battery, still no luck. But, if it was plugged in it was fine. Well, yesterday the battery went down to 0% and it would shut off whenever it came unplugged. This morning it came unplugged, courtesy of my 11 month old LOL, and after I plugged it in it refused to turn back on! After he got home my husband by some miracle got it turned back on, and now I'm furiously uploading all my pictures from the last 6 months off my computer and on to an online photo hosting site (DH will burn them onto CD's at a later point)
I'm hoping that DH can find a refurbished laptop for me. I hate to spend the money, but I guess I will consider it a Mothers Day and birthday gift.
I'm also trying to figure out if I should or can get in to see my doctor. He said to get in to see him, no appointment needed, if I have any symptoms flare up. This evening the slight vertigo feels like it is starting up again. But, my DH's aunt might be released from the hospital tomorrow (she had a stroke 2 months ago, and about 10 days ago went into the hospital with pneumonia and then her kidneys were not working and she needed dialysis) Until the beginning of May, when a home health aide will be available, I watch her during the day while DH's cousin works, so if she gets out tomorrow I'm not sure if I can get in to see my doctor. I would have 3 kids 5 and under, and a 84 year old who has lost her short term memory. I just can't see myself being able to do that.

Polly got her new spring service dog vest today, it is mesh not padded.
Waiting for spring allergies to lift a bit. My sinuses a bloody mess.

Great news about DJ!!!! So glad she gets to go to PA!
Had PT appointment today but had to cancel due new quadriceps spasms and no other driver available. Was looking forward to the massage of the legs which are now constantly spasming with this latest relapse.
The rest of the week is busy with follow-up appt for DH...tomorrow-Holter monitor and GI follow-up, Thursday-PCP.

Lulu, is your numb foot an MS symptom or due to something else?
Physio therapy tomorrow for strained rotator cuff.
Doctor's appt Wed with my GP (first one since MS dx)

I had a great session with the accupuncturist today. My numb foot can now feel the carpet when I walk barefoot. A couple of the needles really made me jump appropriately. He was able to immediately zero in on what parts of my body needed work. I just wish I could afford to go more often. -Lu
I'm glad to hear DJ is doing well, and finally off to Pennsylvania. :-)
I have a followup appointment with the Neurologist to review the results of the EMG/Nerve Conductance test and blood tests he did last week.

2nd neuro opinion tomorrow.
Wonderful news about DJ! Thanks for the update, Lu.
Main thing on my agenda is appt with neuro-ophth in Edmonton. Routine annual follow-up. I really like him, he takes so much time with me and answers all of my questions. I think it's time I give in and get glasses, am starting to need to hold books several more centimetres away from my eyes to bring the text into focus. Ahhhh, middle age......
