Deb904, happy anniversary! We've got 5 years on you, but 21's a great start!
Happy (belated) birthday to rendean, to, you youngster!
Not the statin. She said it would be in more places than one, if it was that. She felt on it a little bit, flexed my foot, and declared it to be a spasm, so she's going to check out calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, electrolytes to see if anything in my blood indicates a reason for it. Also getting a urine culture to see if I have a piddling (pun intended) infection causing the incontinence. She recommended seeing a PT for an Incontinence Program, so I'll probably give it a whirl. As far as the #2 problem goes, she said to do Miralax for a good long while to see if we can get things going, and then back off some.
Have a modified barium swollowing teston thursday..... i hope it is not as bad as the regular one I had 3+ years ago!
I had to stop the statins (lipitor for me) because of the aches and pains ... that is a common side effect (feels like the flu almost) but it was particularly bad in my hip - oops! It just occurred to me as I type this that perhaps that was my MS bad hip, because didn't know I had MS yet. Maybe it wasn't the lipitor after all...........
My week will hopefully be quiet except for Friday - the urogyno in the morning for my annual checkup, then a mammogram in keeping with the day's theme. I wrap up the day with an accupuncture session.
be well,
Laura
Appointment with my PCP after work. We're going to discuss bladder and bowel issues (she doesn't know that yet). Just a routine follow up for cholesterol, BP, glucose, the like.
Got the records from my MS doc visits, but several things were missing, like one of the MRI radiologist reports, results of my NMO test (which their notes and verbal to me say negative) and stuff from the neuro-opth. I see the SSER stuff was all within normal limits except for one of the waveforms being ever so slightly delayed. Interesting to read that one of the deep tendon reflexes is less than it should be in both arms, and that my tootsies are indifferent to the Babinski test.
I hardly ever have paresthesias any more--just a troublesome calf cramp most days--another thing to ask the PCP about, because she warned me of muscle pain when she increased my statin. My PT sis-in-law says I have a fatty tumor in my calf, and it's trapped within the fascia, so it's squishing on the muscle, causing discomfort. That's just the result of one of those "hey, feel my leg" things. I think it's related to something that feels like a little tight tendon or something that runs clear up into my seating area. I can press on the back of my thigh and it makes my calf hurt. Stretching makes it feel better.
Gory details of lesions and MRIs and LP and stuff are in my journal. One thing that's bugging me, though..The new doctor questioned the former neuro's statement in his letter to my PCP about a spinal lesion.."There is faint enhancement as before." Yes, the radiologist said there was faint enhancement on my 3T MRI, but the prior 1.5 one had NO enhancement, according to the radiologist. So was former doc saying he had seen slight enhancement on my 1.5T? Or did he just write his letter wrong? Since the new doc questioned it, why didn't he pop in my 1.5T CD and take a look for himself? In hindsight, I'll bet he didn't know I had it with me. The notes say something about the prior study not being available. For now, I think it's just water under the bridge, since I'm having fewer symptoms, but still scheduled to keep seeing him regularly.
A very happy birthday to Rendean and Pastor Dan!
Thank you for the birthday wishes!
Rendean
Happy Belated Birthday, Redean.....and many more.
Hugggie Wuggies,
Heather
Just recovering from LP and have a week to complete a ten foot by 43 inch painting called Octopus's Garden. I painted the Octopus and a Lion Fish and Sea Horse before the LP but have plenty of tropical fish and plants to paint. I get kind of queasy when I sit up or walk. I have a two week wait for the LP results.
Happy B Day Dan

Well, I go to the GP tomorrow to confirm that I'm pregnant! I took a home test Saturday and Sunday and both were positive. I'm still having dizziness and tingles in my legs, so I'd like to talk with him about that as well. Been to the neuro and rheumy and neither could find anything wrong with me. Sigh. But I'm excited about being pregnant :)
By the way, Happy Birthday Dan!!
Kelly
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Beautiful day so far, even considering I have to work all day. First of all, it means I have income and insurance, which many lack, and secondly, my boss isn't back from Bristol yet, so the office is peaceful!
Tuesday, physical therapy
Thursday evening, dinner out with a bunch of friends; hope I can stay awake!
Week one of my own self-imposed 2 week "medical leave" from work. Was scheduled for PT three times this week but was told to call neuro after this morning since weakness/pain increased. No call back yet.
DAN-Happy Birthday! I turned 51 yesterday and it looks like I'm closing in on a MS diagnosis...will let you know.
Just a GP appointment this week to check blood pressure - looks like I will be on tablets for that very soon. She is writing to the neuro before my appointment so I am going to try to get her to show me what she is writing before she send sit as I need her support.
Happy Birthday Dan - if I get my dx sorted I will let you know as at 53 I am much older than you :-)

PT today and Thursday.
Endocrinologist appt. Wednesday. I had Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome with Acanthosis Nigricans. For those of you not familiar with this, it is a darkening of the skin around the neck, under the arms, knuckles, etc. It's very unsightly and embarrassing. It can be a sign of abdominal cancer so I have to have an EGD on April 3. I have already had this checked and do not have cancer but the new internal medicine dr. is not comfortable with this. I am in hopes the Endocrinologist can help me with some of my issues. I am wondering if I have Metabolic Syndrome (Syndrome X) and if this is playing a role in part of my brain issue.
I just celebrated my 21st wedding anniversary this past Thursday. I have an awesome husband who is very supportive of my MS and whatever else is wrong with me.
My MS Forum family is in my daily prayers!!
Neuro-ophthalmologist on Thursday

Starting back at the G Y M
Going to work my arms and legs into submission, durrnit!
I've had enough of treating them good - time for some discipline!

Happy Birthday!
Tomorrow I see my neuro to see if she can help discover what it going on with me. I have a feeling, strong feeling, not much will change after the appt, but I am keeping it and see what happens.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Dan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only special event on my agenda is that I turned 52 today, so you all know I'm too old now to possibly be diagnosed with MS. ;P Superdocs still have no clue what I have, and I am waiting for a new general neuro appointment in May, but hoping someone will cancel between now and then.
Without doctor's awareness, I stopped my DMD.
I also have been using Quix's method of bladder "retraining" and am doing quite well with it. It's hard to resist those sudden urges, but am having less "piddle" accidents, when I just think about emptying my bladder. THANKS QUIX! HUGS!!!
