Blood work all normal

So my B12 levels are normal and all the other tests the Doc ordered came back within normal range.  He did a full blood count, liver function, thyroid, ANA, bone density and a few others (cant remember all of them).

Does anything show in blood tests with MS or is it just an MRI that can DX it?

Still waiting for  my appointment date on the MRI.

And even when other possibilities are excluded you don't automatically come to a MS diagnosis.  There are quite a few neurological and immunological disorders that have no specific laboratory or radiographic findings to help with diagnosis.

It's frustrating because we want to know what is wrong so we can start treating and working on getting better.  Instead we too often feel we are forced to wait around until 'things' get worse.

In reality we sometimes need to choose a moment to stop waiting for our health to get worse and take a little control back.  Healthy living and symptomatic treatments go a long way to help us feel better no matter what else is going on - diagnosed or not.

I agree with HVAC that blood tests are used to rule out other possibilities. I don't agree that an MS DX is entirely one of exclusion. MRI, LP and clinical exams are very affirmative DX tools.

Thanks - well I guess everything looks fine in my bloods so I will just continue trying to be patient.

Blood tests are used to rule out all other possibilities. MS is a diagnosis of excluding all other possibilities.
