E.R. for me

I woke up Friday morning with a temp of 103.  I have been battling an injection site infection.  Now I am concerned it might be mrsa.

I am on my 3rd round of antibiotics and it refuses to heal.  I was a mess.  Could not walk.  Could not see.  I was having problems with breathing.

They did tests but could not find any thing.  I think I may be in a flare because my vision is awful.  I am going to call my neuro in the morning because my PCP does not feel qualified to take care of me.

How frustrating.

So sorry to hear that you are so ill. Have they told you yet or not if it is / is not MRSA?
Usually this can be tested by simply swabing the inside of the nose.

I know here in Florida....They will not even admit a patient until they get the old swab of the nose...I too would Demand some answers and specialized doctors who ARE equiped to handle what is going on.  Could it be a Staph infection? Possibly started from injection?

And then of course it could also be, as you said, just a nasty infection that is being stubborn to certain antibiotics. And now a possible Flare from being so ill.  I have you in thought and Prayer. Hope you get answers soon!

Oh, my, LA!!!  Have you been under the care of an Infectious Disease (ID) specialist??  If there is any thought of a resistant bug - and clearly there is with an infection that isn't healing - you need to see a specialist. Demand one if you need to.  Neurologists have no particular training in treating infections.   I'm sure the sustained infection has you in a flare.

Oh, I am so sorry.  Is your temp coming down yet?

You had better be getting good care or Momma Quix will be there and screaming like a bansheee!

Please keep us posted!!
