Bright rooms and trouble seeing

I notice that when I am in a bright white room that is brightly lit, my eyes feel like they feel after you have looked into a bright light to long. My vision seems splotchy and spotty...it is hard to explain and my doctor looks at me like I am nuts, but has anyone else experienced this?

My boyfriend has a headache he can't get rid of and he has pressure behind his eyes around the bridge of his nose. He also said he sees blue splotches in his eyes. Anyone know what this might be and if it is serious?

I have quite abit of Light sensitivty... not all the time, but 50% of the time...when I get up in the morning on somedays I have to not put the lights on in the bathroom, and keep the blinds shut in the morning... I wear sunglasses alot when this is happening as well.

I have not been dx with ON...but do have MS.. I also have blurry/double vision alot of the time.

my right eye gets sore and twitches quite often, it feels different then my other eye and feels watery at time... like both eye see differently and it wonders... I feel like my eyes want to go cross eyed at times too.

good luck

I am not sure what ON is. I am not diagnosed as yet. I am waiting for approval for a second opinion. I have had brain lesions increasing for the past 8 years along with a rash of new symptoms...balance, forgetfulness, brain fog, etc.

I've been exstreemly light sensitive for about 3 or so years, i have to wear sunglasses all year round or my eyeballs hurt. I too have noticed light coloured rooms affect my sight, white boards that reflect over head lighting or sunlight are a problem, i cant see yellow on these boards at all. I also have problems with driving at night, the brightness of the on coming cars headlights are blinding but if their lights are reflected onto a sign i end up with the blotched out vision and the icepick pain in my eyeball. We are now in Spring (OZ) and the sun is starting to shine again, it will be interesting to see if my pupils keep on changing size (different to each other) when the natural light is brighter like it does with over head lighting.

Your not the only one who thinks they sometimes need to wear sunnies inside as well as out, not sure its related to MS though, light sensitivity (photosentive) has been mentioned in a few articles i've read but they mostly concentrate on deminished sight issues (ON), i'm going to look it up and get back to you.

Cheers.........JJ

I am not dx, but I do get this.  It's almost like bright shadows.

You are welcome, have you had ON at all, are you dx or not?

I think the reason it was recognised in me is because I have had ON twice so anything is possible, I get lots of issues with my eyes.

I have mentioned this to both my doctor and my neuro and they both look at me like I am nuts. Sometimes the best thing in the world is hearing from someone that you are not! Thanks

Yep I get it all the time and live in sunglasses even inside. I don't know if it's connected but I have had ON twice and my neuro recognized the sx.

I find bright lights impossible to deal with and also white walls in offices. Trying to look at a whiteboard or PowerPoint presentation is also a problem.

My other difficult one is white writing on a blue background.
