Here's the update on the Cleveland Clinic outpost in Vegas
A friend has send pictures of the building (thanks!) - you can check them out on my photos - there are three I posted there for you to see this building design.

Here is the link to the CC news release about their opening in July -

I am fascinated by the architecture, but am equally thrilled for those of you out west who may benefit from this facility.
be well,

HB, that is exactly what I thought of too....
Julie, I don't get it either, unless it is supposed to be a brain.
I wonder what the locals think of it?
Anway, if I get to Vegas again I will definitey go walk around just to check out the building.
It reminds me of a collaboration between Salvador Dali and Dr Seuss that they would have built if he took acid! It is one freakish building. LOL

My first impression was of the iconic pictures of a wall of the World Trade Center rising from the rubble.
I don't get the architecture. From a neurological perspective, it is a bit creepy, but then again it is a model and it is in Las Vegas. I'd go see the finished project too, just out of curiosity.
located very close to the same spot as the World Market Center. since that is a gambling town, wonder what the odds are that the VA/gov would send me and any other veteran there to help us out?? i'm willing to say the sportsbook odds makers would put the odds not in our favor. ;-)
there is a push for the VA to issue insurance cards so vets can go to the provider of their choice. and why not, the VA makes effort to bill your med insurance company anyways. i doubt that card will be coming anytime soon. but it might, here's to hope.
thanks for the info...that place is much closer than Cleveland. maybe some on this forum will be able to get there and get the help they deserve and NEED!
They headed to LV because they were given a multi-million dollar endowment from a philanthropist who's father had alzheimers( I think that's the connection). Anyway, they were trying to lure CC to LV for a number of years and finally pulled it off.
Be sure to read the article and check out the architecture of the building.... I'ld love to hear everyone's thoughts about the site. Next time I'm in Vegas I will definitely go by the place just to see the b uilding.
be well,
L
Yes when I was still able to travel I went to both UCLA & USC in LA. They couldn't offer me any different treatment than I was already getting. Mostly because at the time I had already been labeled Chronic Progressive... My Neuro at the time sent me, because he didn't know what to do with me... I think he had hoped they would let him off the hook so to speak. But they agreed with my DX and said they were so sorry they couldn't help me.
I went hoping they would say I could have the trachea tube removed, no luck there either.
They do alot of trial testing none of which I was qualified for due to my DX..
Now it is very difficult for me to travel by car I have to double up on the pain meds, which I hate to do, just to get to Pasadena's Huntington Hospital. I go everywhere by my electric wheel chair.., so all of my Doctors are here in Arcadia...
But thank you for the suggestion,

Hi. have you ever been to UCLA? I went there for a second opinion to back out of my diagnosis. They'd have none of it. :-) With all that is going on with you, perhaps they can get you back on track?
My experience there was very good. A new forum member from Santa Barbara went there recently and was satisfied. She was going to go again for a follow up. Has anyone heard from her?
Dang wish they would come to SO.CA> say Arcadia or Pasadena... Hey an old gal can still dream... I love thinking good thoughts...
Have a restful night and know my hugs will be waiting for you in the morning...

Hey, I don't mind heading out West for a consult. I can go for the consult in the morning and hit the casino's at night. Sounds like a good health vacation to me.
In all seriousness, it is a good move for CC to open a branch in the West. Mayo did that and it opens up opportunities for quality care in various regions. Good move on their par but I wonder what made them decide on LV. Cheap real estate maybe. Thanks for sharing this with us.
