Has anyone read about CCSV1 and multiple Sclerosis?

There is some interesting reading on MS society website UK.

CTV just did an article on Dr. Zamboni - you can view the video here.

I wasn't trying to be a smart aleck in my response; I used the capitals because there wasn't a way to underline or use bold.  I wanted emphasize the word veins, because in the theory of CCSVI as applied to MS these are what's implicated; the arteries aren't involved.  Just trying to help clear up a common misunderstanding.

"Carotid artery stenosis is the narrowing of the carotid arteries. These are the main arteries in the neck that supply blood to the brain."  It is the VEINS that bring the blood back out of the brain, legs, heart, etc.  Either the veins or the artery's can show stenosis, but yes in the case of CCSVI they are looking at the VEINS.  The blood flowing back out of the brain.

The idea has been discussed here (search through some old posts), and is actively being discussed elsewhere.  If one is going to look into this, that person should research the subject thoroughly and make sure it is understood.  For example, the CCSVI theory in MS has nothing to do with arteries.  It is certain VEINS that show the stenosis.

I am totally on board with everything this doctor is doing to help people with MS.  I am trying to find a center in the United States, to get an appointment as quickly as I can to sign up for treatment.  I already know that I am narrowing in the carotid artery's, but will try and get an MRA to look at the atery's at my yearly MRI on December 21st.

I hear that there are doctor's that are actively doing this new procedure concerning CCSV1 in Buffalo, NY and at Wayne State University in Detoirt, Michigan.  I am totally excited at the prospects of helping my MS.  There is no way I could lose, no matter what happens.  If my artery's are clogged, then clearing them, is not only good for my overall health, but could be the answer to repeated damage to my brain.

I have NO doubts that this procedure is going to stop my relapses.  I just feel it in my bones and in my soul.

Exciting isn't it?

All the Best,
Heather
