Yes I have heard of this bill and am thoroughly disgusted by it. It also would mean that a parent giving there child a supplement or herb, could be charged. This is worse than Big Brother. It would affect any professional who was in alternative medicine. Even myself could be charged if I would give say thyme and oregano to a friend as a remedy for an ailment as both are high in natural antibiotic properties. Free samples would also be illegal under this bill.
We live in a so called free society but where then would be the freedom of choice. I know of no one that would take supplements without their doctors knowledge and have had a few doctors over the years who believed in alternative medicine. I am appalled that this is even on the table as a bill but not surprised. Greed is what runs our medical society and I'm sure the pharmaceuticals are losing out to a great amount of money when people are not taking there expensive drugs.
It is a sad thing that this is even a discussion. I for one will raise my voice against it.

I did look up this bill. It will allow the governament to enter your property without a warrant, and seize your property without a warrant.
You will also be able to be arrested and fined if you talk about a natural alternative to a prescription drug.
You will not be able to buy 75 percent of the natural supplements currently available.
This Bill is being rushed through the Canadian Parliament in the interest of big Pharma in Canada. This is Big Brother at its worst.

The Man is always on our backs!
No, truly -- That would be awful, I think. In the US, the FDA does not regulate supplements and if they did, and I had to ask my doc for every little thing I take -- I take WAY more Vitamin D than he has prescribed, I wouldn't take half of what I think I need.
There is not enough of a meeting of the minds yet between taditional medicine and new approaches to satisfy people who know what they want in supplements. I do tell my doc what I take. THe fish oil, Vitamin D (not how much), multivitamin. But if I had to ask him for it, and if it was going to be scrutinized -- Oy. That's the Man going too far, man. I don't believe most docs keep up with the latest studies about supplements.
I joke, but I think it's true.
