can I skip my next two injections???

Would it be a problem?  I am not going to continue IM and I'd love to have two weeks off before I see my new Ms doctor.
Two things: I do not want to put that needle into my thigh muscle again AND I am done with feeling like I have the flu.

Missing two injections will not be a big deal since I am going to change my med....will it?

It's just my personal opinion, that missing two shots will not put you at risk with your MS.  It takes longer than two weeks for Avonex to get totally out of your system, anyway.

I know this is a hard decision for you, but I do understand why you are making it.

Let's all pray that an oral medication comes along soon, that all of us will be able to take without troublesome side-effects.  Lord, I can't wait for that day.

Sending you big hugs and much love...

Lee Ann, We;re not doctors and can't advise you one way or the other if you should skip those doses.

That said, just remember that our MS injections are not like treatments for cancer. As I understand it, no major damage is done in the treatment chain if you miss a shot or two.  Its not a good thing but its not a horribly bad thing either. I missed a copax shot because I plain old forgot, and it didn't seem to  make a difference. Doublevision missed a shot about that time too and was told it was not a problem.  But Copax is a daily shot and not weekly.

Just keep in mind that you will see the new doctor in two weeks but it probably will take longer than that to actually get your handss on the new drug.

I'm sorry this is bothering you this much.

feel better,
Lulu
