Ct Resident has a problem --needs help!

Hi, guys~

Suzanne, Ct Resident just private messaged me, as she is having trouble accessing the forum yesterday and today.  She just got her MRI results back, which really puzzle her.  They state, in part:

"There is no brain abnormality. There is maxillary sinus mucosal thickening and fluid compatible with acute or chronic sinusitis."

She is astonished, because if she had acute sinusitus, she thinks she would have some clue.  This is NOT the case.  The MRI includes more, but she didn't want to bore us, apparently.  OBVIOUSLY, she doesn't know us very well yet!

Hopefully she'll be able to pop on now and add more.

Anyone have any ideas about this information?  She's really frustrated, because she's been trying to post since yesterday....

Thanks for your help!

I just sent MedHelp a note about CT's problem and contacted CT about it.

Hope this will get things fixed for her.

I don't know if this will help or not:

I just found that in my doctors notes about my 2nd mri.  It said "She has inflamed sinuses with prominent mucosal thickening".

I think it was because I was having a migraine for quite a few days and didn't recognize it because of the numbness.  That is about the worst I have ever felt.  I know that I didn't have an infection either.

Almost everyone will have some type of fluid in their sinuses when they have a brain MRI.  Some of it just comes about from being in the lying down position.  The mucosal thickening can be from previous sinus infections.  I do notice that the radiologist can't decide whether it's acute or chronic.  If she isn't having any problems with an infection in her sinuses right now, there isn't anything to worry about.

I am anxious to hear what more was said about the MRI.  I will try to PM her and find out what she is doing to try and log on and contact MedHelp if we can't get her signed in.
