Hi Ladies,

I'm going to the allergist tomorrow, and wanted to know if you had any more insight to offer on the Rebif allergic reaction and your (or family member) experiences.  I've re-read the old thread where we briefly discussed it, but was wondering if they ran specific tests in support of finding out, or it was just narrowed down to being the only culprit.

Thanks a bunch,
SL

Hi Deb,

I'm glad you scrolled down too.  I am so sorry to hear about your sister's progression though, I'll pray the Tysabri works to stop it in it's tracks.

I had a good visit w/the Allergist.  She believes it's from the meds, but is going to do some further digging.  She asked lots of questions, and figured it out to be about 24 days for the full mg's to go down.  On her calculation, it makes sense with my symptoms starting to decrease.

I wish my Neuro had more experience w/allergic reactions, I might be a little further along with this.  Your not close to Jersey are ya?  Just checking.

Sending all the best to you and your sister, I'll pray x-tra hard on Tuesday for her.

Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate the guidance so much,
SL

I almost completely missed this thread.  I'm glad I decided to go further down screen . . .

My sister first saw a dermatologist and I have no idea what tests he ran on her.  My neurologist took the diagnosis from the dermatologist and looked at her skin and came to the conclusion that she has to come off Rebif.  She also is progressing in her disease and is on the verge of being "upgraded" (or "downgraded"???) to secondary progressive.  She starts her Tysabri infusions next Tuesday.  She's nervous and excited.  I'll probably drive up to sit with her when she gets it.

I don't think there was any specific tests other than a skin biopsy (possibly) and her neurologists experience with other patients.

I hope the allergist gives you more insight into your problem.
Deb
