Definitions of MS Hugs

Ok.  I have gotten what I call the full hug, like someone is standing behind me and squeezing a bit too hard, which lasts for hours..........have had about 3 of those over the past 2 years.

Lately have been getting it on just one side of body, like somone with very large hands  has put their hand on one side of my body, sorta just above the waist and is pinching from front to back of my body.....

Anybody think they are the same or am I off base with the 2nd?  Also now getting "tiny" electrical like shocks thru my head intermittently......

Can't do MRIs anymore - pacer

Anyone have a similar sensation?

Thanks guys

I get all sorts of uncomfortable sensations around the spot in my upper back with all the lesions.  Yesterday a muscle was spasming in my back - today it's okay, but I'm getting muscle twitches in that area.  I've gotten muscle spasms around one side.  I get esophageal spasms.  I've also had spasms around the lower abdomen - not sure what that's about, but I do have a lesion at T10 as well.

I think that damage to the spinal cord will result in symptoms at the level of the lesion.  You'll get tingling, burning, buzzing - all the usual paresthesia.  You'll also get spasms and spasticity, because of poor nerve condution.  You won't always have the 'all the way round' MS hug - who knows why!  Maybe the nerves are working on one side, but not the other.

What I have feels similar at times, but most of the times now it feels like there is a wire wrapped tightly around and around my chest at the level just above my bra strap.  Wearing a bra makes it worse, but even when I am not wearing a bra it feels like I have a very tight, twisted and uncomfortable bra on.  It digs into my rib cage and is extremely uncomfortable.  When the discomfort is worst, it is hard to get a good breath and this affects my speech.

I never knew what this was, and always thought it had something to do with a case of shingles I had 7 or 8 years ago in the bra strap area.  But, it has definately gotten worse over the past 8 months or so, just like all my other MS-like symptoms (I am not diagnosed yet).
