Does this seem alarming?

I had my 1 month (after starting my DMD) blood test drawn on Friday and I know they are checking for liver problems, so when I got the results back I became alarmed. I just want to know if the alarms are warrented though?

ALT was 70 - Standard Range 9-52

Lymphoctyes % 50.7 - Standard Range 21.8-41.6%

Neutrophils % 39.8 - Standard Range 49.2-70.4%

Those are the only ones that are flagged, I haven't had time to thouroughly study the rest of the test so not sure if any of the others are close to being at the low end or high end of standard. I did have a chance to go back and look at my test from when I had my gallbladder out and the ALT at that time was in the 600's which has me feeling a little better that it is only 18 point over right now, but it still has me a little nervous. Can anyone calm my fears, are these okay variences?

Many thanks and Happy Monday!  MeLissa

Well maybe I can be more helpful. My own ALT and AST are considered slightly elevated, maybe about your range. My PCP made note of that but is not at all alarmed. I am on Avonex and a couple of other meds that can cause elevation, so naturally this is being watched.

My neuro is very casual in this regard, which may not be a good thing for a lot of patients who may not knowledgeable, but luckily I am. After I'd been on Avonex maybe 16 months, he asked if I were getting liver function tests and I said yes. I told him they were slightly high, according to my PCP (and I get copies of all such reports). The neuro said fine, if it's only slight.

So that's my experience. I hope it helps you.

Thanks ess for commenting so fast and thanks to rendean for bumping me!

I should clarify that my gallbladder problems were back in 2007, I was referencing them because I knew the levels were high back then (I had jaundis from a stone getting stuck in the bile duct and had to have emergency surgery.)

I have had normal ALT levels since then in 09' but I am just worried that she will take me off the DMD I am on because of elevated levels and I would prefer that not to happen.

I can comment on the ALT, at least. This is not really high, and would not worry your PCP. It falls in the 'slightly' category. It's a very good sign that this number is going down for you.
