EMG worries

So, Dr. says my MRIs are "pretty clear"  There are a couple of spots she wants to keep an eye on, but not that we could really consider "active lesions."  Follow up MRI scheduled for 6 months to check for anything new and to also check on the progression of the disc dessication.

She thinks I might have some periferal nervous system issues because of my "not-so-great reflexes" on my left side and the twitching "goober"-like crawling going on under my skin.  So, I am being referred to one of her partners for an EMG.  The whole sticking-a-needle-into-my-leg-and-sending-electric-impulse thing kind of freaks me out.

Soooo...what I am asking is, honestly, what should I expect?

If you could respond or bump up a thread on this (I looked for a bit, but couldn't find).

Thank you so so much,
Aussy

Stop worrying now!

I was so freaked out about this test that I was sweating bullets. I have a low pain threshold and was so scared.

It was NOTHING! Not a bit of pain or discomfort. Please be reassured and don't worry about this. It was possibly the most pain-free test I've had. Getting blood drawn is much worse (and even I think that's a piece of cake).
