You are very welcome to post here. I do not think MS is directly tied to high triglycerides. You mentioned inactivity due to health problems. You did not mention over all diet. I do not mean to pry and you do not need to answer.
As with having MS all medical conditions we have are not tied directly to our MS. When they thought I had MS I changed my diet to lessen the chances of other medical conditions. I like red meat and that makes my triglycerides borderline. I eat tons of fruits and vegetables and no sodas, alcohol, or processed food. The rule of thumb I am now following is 4 white meat servings to every red meat. Serving size is also important the deck of cards. I have lots of pain with MS and two bad disks I find exercise actually helps with pain in the long run. I walk as much as I can, ride horses once a week, do yoga, and swim.
With the changes in diet and the exercise I started out very slow. Five minutes of walking. Changing one dietary habit at a time.
I have also lost thirty pounds over 3 years which helps everything.
Like I said I am not telling you you have to do what I do this is what helped me.

Thanks - I don't mind your questions at all . . . I appreciate your thoughts.
My diet isn't great. I drink too much diet soda, for sure and like candy too much. But my red meat isn't too bad - about the 4-1 ratio is about right. But I'm going to need to make some changes in diet, to be sure.
I think my frustration with this news today was just that I've been told so many things about why I feel like I feel, and my last neurologist told me it was high cholesterol. I just don't believe that my INO, or my strong nerve pain, fatigue, dysautonomia, buckling knees, lesion on MRI, confusion/brain fot, etc., is cholesterol. Maybe I don't want to believe it, but I'm having a hard time understanding it. CNS vasculitis makes more sense to me, I guess. Who knows? I'm not optimistic of ever finding out.
Good advice on changing slow, to be sure. I think I'll start. Tomorrow. :) Thanks again.
I hear your frustration and can relate. I do not know much about high cholesterol but if you think you are not getting an answer you can try another Doctor. I am not a Doctor shopper but I went through quite a few Neurologists until I got a diagnosis. Things they were saying made no sense to me. Neurologists Specialize they usually know more about there specialty.
PS great Dog.

Elevated triglyceride levels are associated more with excess calories from carbohydrates and sugars. They usually drop if you limit things like breads, cookies, and candy.
You are certainly welcome to post or ask questions here but more information is easily available by using any decent search engine. Just make sure you go to reliable information sources (like the ADA or American Hearth Association sites) and don't click on any money seeking quick cure advertisements.
You're probably right that the cholesterol profile isn't the direct cause of your symptoms but excess calories and fat are never helpful. A balanced diet always helps maintain a healthy body. Now all I have to do is heed my own advise!
