Like Lulu  I was dx'd at 54.

People dx'd with MS older than 50 are known as 'Late Onset MS'. I recently read somewhere on the internet that 3 to 5% of MS's are LOMS.

My (ignored) symptoms went back about 10 years, still outside the 20 to 40 range.

Like my neuro said, "if you have MS, you have MS".

I was 60 years of age when dx.  For many years I just ignored what was happening to my body.  It was the kind of work I did.  I was busy raising a large family.  I was getting older and caring for an acre of property was a lot of work.  Oh, the list goes on and on.  Doctors went right along with it telling me I was getting older.  The kind of work I did was for younger people (I built displays for stores) or it was stress due to so many teens in the house, etc.

Oh yes, age 60 ain;t too late.

Yes it's possible. Testing for vitamin B12 deficiency is also recommended as this deficiency mimics MS. There is an autoimmune condition called pernicious anaemia which is a cause of vitamin B12 deficiency.  The average age at diagnosis is 60.

The rules say 20-40 is the usual age, but the thing is no one told MS that there are rules! LOL

I was dx'd at 54. We have people here who were diagnosed even later.  It is not unheard of.

Keep in mind you might have had MS for decades and not paid any attention to it or just learned to live with the symptoms.

welcome,
Lulu
