Not a question

Hello everyone and to those that I've befriended throughout my stay here on Medhelp.

I must apologize for my absence, but it was needed.

A quick update on what's going on with me:

I had the vaginal mesh surgery performed in June and unfortunately, it did not work.  I'm still having incontinent issues as well as getting up during the night to go.

Yesterday I went to see my primary (since I couldn't get a hold of my MS Specialist) and told her of my increasing fatigue levels were at an all time high.  My balance was worsening over the past two weeks and still have fine motor coordination issues.  Myoclonus appeared again as well as paresthesias in my left leg.  Also a new symptom arose and that is vertigo.

I started on the Provigil 100mg twice a day 1.5 weeks ago and so far nothing yet.

She ordered a MRI of brain cspine and tspine with/without contrast according to MS Protocol.  I have to call today to make the appointment.

You are all missed and I want to take this time to thank you for your support and friendship.

Lisa

Lisa,

Welcome back! :) You have been missed.

I have been wondering how you are doing since you were looking at your thyroid. (My note feature doesn't work.)

I hope you start feeling better and these MRI's lead to answers quickly.
(hugs)

I didn't see the post and already sent you a note saying it was great to see you back here.  I hope you'll be out in the field again very soon and working on your photography.

So sorry the surgery was not the answer to your problems.    I hope you'll be around here if your health permits.
best, Lu

Just wanted to say welcome back and sorry you're going through all of this.

I started Nuvigil and it has been amazing, it did take about 5-6 days before I noticed a difference. I hope the provigil works for you soon, maybe they can up the dose slightly??

Hope these MRI's can give you some answers.

Take it easy,

Kelly

Hi, Lisa-

Welcome home!  :)

I have been on a leave myself and just got back.  I moved from CA to AZ and in the huge dust storm that passed through here, i managed to get a dx, land my butt in rehab, had my baclofen pump fail, had surgery to fix it, back to rehab...got home yesterday.  I spent more time in rehab than I have in my new house!  My dx was not MS.  It was Familial Spastic Paraplegia (HSP).  No cure...no DMD.  It is an MS mimic.

I am so sorry that your surgery wasn't successful.  Very disappointing.  I have incontinence, too, but mine is controlled by meds.  I can't even begin to understand what you are going through.

I hope your upcoming MRI will give you the answers you are looking for, deserve and need.  My thoughts will be with you and I will cross my fingers and eyes for you, too.

I took the Provigil while I was I'm rehab.  I am unsure if it was that that worked or them trekking my meds that did, but it was wonderful.  I hope it begins to work for you.  I am no longer on it, insurance denies, but so far so good without it.

Welcome back, girl!
Addi

Lisa-gurl!

THANK YOU. You were a ray of sunshine here, and you have been missed. But, it's totally understandable. You can only fake it for so long, girl.

Your probs are real, and I hope your doc takes these new problems serious. You just do what you can - and if that is only to pop in and read, it's ok.

I pray the vertigo leaves as quick as it came - it's horrible.

Thinking of you, and praying the MRIs shed more light on all this for the docs.
((((big hugs)))

Hey Sarah,

Thank you for your comment -- it is graciously appreciated.

I'm so sorry to hear of your relapse. :(  I hope it doesnt hang around too long?

I suspect the upcoming MRI will help in the determination of whether or not I have MS.  If it comes back the same or no new lesions, then I can safely feel that something else is going on rather than this route of diagnosis.

All I do know, is that this has been a year of relentless fatigue and a conglomerate of come and go neurological issues.  Tired of it -- as you all very well know this feeling all too well.

Thanks again!

Lisa

Hi Lisa

First of all please never feel you have to apologise for not being around..I think that you will find that we all understand and have absences ourselves. I have not been around much myself recently due to a relapse.

Sorry that your surgery has not gone well..it must be very demoralising when you have been through a horrid operation. I am glad that you have got the MRI's on the horizon and hope that these may provide some answers.

Take care and welcome back.

Best wishes
