False Creek MS study

I will be participating in a study at False Creek next week, titled "a comparison of flow rate parameters and extracranial venous stenosis in cases of multiple sclerosis vs a group of matched controls".

It'll take about 3 hours, and involves an MRV with dye.

They're testing 100 MSers and 100 people without MS.

I'm pretty excited about it. While they won't treat any problems they find, at least I'll know if CCSVI is an issue for me.

Yes, they'll share what they find with me and my doctor. This is a huge benefit I think.

I don't know if they will tell me anything right away, or if I have to wait. I'm seeing my neuro mid Dec, so if I have to wait till then it's only 3 weeks or so.

My appt at False Creek is the 27th of Nov, so I'll report what happens when I get home on the 29th or so.

I'm a little surprised to be chosen, being as how I'm a 54 year old male who just got dx'ed at 53 years old, but I am very pleased!

hey keep us posted if you find out anything my dr. sent me for an ultrasound of my neck veins but he said they were fine but i think we need the mrv to see anything.

Thanks for doing this - CCSVI may not be the answer but it does deserve a closer look.  Will they share your results with you or will this be a closed study?  Often times in a study they don't tell the patient what their testing showed.
