Feelin better in the evening

Hello everyone, I was wondering if most of you feel better at any certain time of the day.  I have noticed that I feel my best in the evening, and the worst in the mornings when I am attempting to get ready for the day.  I know that perhaps the warm shower may pose a problem, but I am sometimes really cold and it takes a while for my to warm up.
I go to my regular Dr. on Monday.  Any suggestions or important questions you think I should ask?  I am having a second MRI (had a thoracid---I know it is spelled wrong! without contrast) on thursday (my BDAy) on my spine (a different part?) & brain with constrast.  These were ordered by a different doctor (neurologist that I was referred to).
I hope everyone is feeling well tonight & has lots of ice cream!
Thanks, Terrie

You sound alike like me, except for the extreme fatigue!!  I feel off when I get up, like I'm coming down with something  ...

I've also started going to bed later and later as I feel much better during that time.

I just can't stand feeling not normal in the morning!  I have to get my 4 kids going to school and it is difficult.  I still muddle through it, as I have to.  After lunch, I'm out running around playing ball with my youngest in the backyard ~ go figure.

I'm also undiagnosed but I find I get worse later in the afternoon. I'm good in the morning but then start fading around 2 or 3pm and its downhill from there. I find after that time everything I do is a real effort. So I try to take breaks between doing things and sometimes during them depending on what I'm doing.

Good luck on your tests.

I am like you.  I actually have more energy between 7-9pm.  I think it is like Johnny said though,  I have about 50 things I need to get done before 8:30am and I am always trying to rush and it is not possible anymore so my stress level is much higher in the moring now than it used to be.  I almost always lay down and rest after work and get a second wind to be able to make dinner and get evening routine done without too much rushing or stress.  Unfortunately with kids and dogs and work it is not always feasible to rest but at least I understand why I am exhausted.  I have started working from home past few weeks as I was laid off and that has made a huge difference in my morning energy level.

Have a nice night!

Hi there,
I was always a morning person also.  I loved to get up before the sun rose and greet my family.  The symptoms are extreme fatigue, and just feeling real lousy, like I'm coming down with a virus. Sometimes I have to force my self up and make myself get through all of the cloudy headed, balance-off, stuff.  Then I gradually feel better as the day goes on, and in the evening I don't want to go to bed because that is when I am feeling pretty good.  But I always fall asleep soon after my head hits the pillow, but I do wake up at least 2 to 3 times a night, usually need to use the bathroom.

Bingo. I realize that you posted this in 2007, but you described why I go through most days. Lightheaded, fatigued all day, then better as soon as the sun goes down. I hate going to sleep because I finally feel more normal. I also know that it will start again when I wake up. I also fall asleep immediately, but I'm up 2 times/night.

Being a person with MS for many years, I have to say that as the day progresses, I actually feel worse.  I have less and less energy as the day wears on.  I've learned to pace myself, if at all possible.

If you add in heat or an infection, I am not worth a hoot from morning till night...

I could be that your putting out more effort while getting ready for work than you think. You might try getting up 30 minutes earlier or more (might have to turn in a little earlier to get enough sleep) and try breaking up some of your morning activities. Do something and then take a small break, do something else. From what I understand, not overdoing it in a short time frame is important for maintaining your energy levels.

If I mow the lawn and it takes 90 minutes, I might be wiped out for the rest of the day if I do it without a break. If I do 15-20 minutes, let my body cool down and then do some more I don't feel so bad and can get more done throughout my day.

I'm like you.   I feel my worst when I get up in the morning.  A shower has no affect on me as I don't experience the fatigue or heat intolerance yet.

I find that I feel better as the day goes on ~ specifically in the mid/late afternoon and evening.

Quite the opposite of what I've heard a lot of people with MS experience.

It really bugs me as I have always been a "morning person".

What symptoms have you been experiencing?

RA is rheumatoid arthritis

Good idea to get your records - I had to fight for some of mine. I went through to see what all had been tested for - there are so many!

Good luck

Hello, I will ask to be tested for those.  The fact is that I am not sure what he has already tested me for.  I am definitely going to get a set of copy of all of my medical tests and documentations, because I am not even sure what the last MRI shows.  What is RA?
I wish they would have done all the MRI's at one time, as I am claustrophobic!  Oh well.
Thanks for the info, Terrie

I am the opposite. After my shower, I feel much much better in the morning. As the day goes on and I get tired, I go downhill - usually starting around 3pm. By evening I've got nothing.

Have you done a timeline - I gave my regular doc a copy of mine too. Have you had testing to rule out mimics - lupus, lymes, RA, etc? If not, your reg doc can order those. Why aren't all MRI's with & without contrast?
