Feeling worse than ever ...

Hi all.  As most know, I am still in limbo land.  Brain MRI was negative, cervical MRI was negative, and my neurologist has said he'll see me in six months ...

Started with tingling and burning in both hands and feet, and right-sided weakness, for about a month and a half.  A couple weeks ago, seemingly out of nowhere, my right-sided weakness started to wane.  However, now I am getting symptoms all over my body.  My ankles and calves shake when walk down stairs, and I have this dull deep aching pain in my ankles and calves.  I have tremor in my arms (significantly worse in my left), and my whole body shakes when I am lifting weights.  When my alarm clock goes off in the morning, and I go to turn off the alarm, my whole body quivers.  I don't feel weak, I just feel like I am losing control of my movements.  It seems to be my entire body now.  From what I understand, one-sided weakness seems to be of more concern then bilateral weakness.  Just seems that I am having major problems with motor control, and I cannot phathom how there can be so many problems with no MRI evidence.

I am wondering what spactisity feels like.  I haven't really been able to pinpoint on the internet.  Does this sound like spactisity?

I just want to feel normal again :-(

I am sorry about the fact that you are back at square one.  It is a lot easier if you know what you are fighting.  I also just got some MRI results back from the hospital.  I had a brain MRI with and without contrast.  It was clean.  My neuro has not even called me since then or even given a followup since my last appointment almost a month ago now. I am glad that your neuro is going to at least keep an eye on you. Good luck.

Hi again!
The great info is on the Health Pages under Discussions on the upper right corner of this page and then go under "Muscle Tone and Spastcity".  It explains everything.  We are so lucky to have Quix!!!!

Have a nice night!

Hi there!  I don't think we have met before.  I have alot of the same symptoms as you are describing with a negative MRI also.  I know how scarey the first few months of feeling this crappy can be!!  My Sx have been going on a year now and I have turned a corner and have decided to start just living the best I can each day because there is nothing else I can do.

The problem with the majority of neurological diseases like MS is that they are very hard to diagnose.  MS is actually a disease of exclusion and is usually diagnosed only when everything else has been ruled out.  I have also tried to understand spasticity.  Our resident den Mother Quix MD did a post on it and it was great at explaining it.  I can never remember anything anymore so I will try to find the post for you to read.

I do think it is great that your neuro wants to see you in six months as a follow up!

Hang in there and I will be praying for some strength for you!

In addition, I wake up in the morning with my legs feeling VERY tired lately.  Any idea what this means?
