Follow up appt with neuro

I had my follow up appt to review MRI and treatment.  I saw a new nurse practitioner - and she agrees with my second opinion neuro - what they see on my MRI is not classic MS lesions - only one in the cerebellum - all other 12 all very small -  And no new lesions.  And my exam - as usual was very good - just brisk reflexes.

I also told her I don't think I've ever had an exacerbation as I have heard others describe.  I just have these wierd sx that come and go all the time.

So for now I am going off Rebif - but I can go back at any time if I choose.  She is keeping my dx of CIS and I will meet with her again in 6 months.  I am going off the Rebif because I think the shots may be making me more tired and depressed.  And until I see more proof that this is MS - I will sit tight.  She is supposed to the the best for MS in my area - and also feels as the other neuro did - if  I have an exacerbation - they can treat it with steroids to help it resolve quickly and I will get back on DMDs.  She is wondering if I have small vessel disease - but I really am at low risk for that from what I read.

I'll keep you posted if anything new comes up - I think we can all learn from each other - but for now I'm going to take a break from MS -CIS - and docs. (Hopefully).  I want to thank everyone for all their support and wish everyone the best.
Carol

Hi Carol,

Well, you sound somewhat ok w/all this. Though we discussed a little already - I'm a pain where CIS is concerned. If this is MS and you treat early you definitely increase your odds of slowing progression.

You taking a break from us? That's ok....but you know your not allowed to leave, MOB rules and all, lol

I sure do hope you get your spirits back :) I know you need the break. Stay in touch!
