Fun times in NY

I really did have fun around all that rushing to dr.'s, lab work,MRI's,  worrying and jazz...

This is me and my mom in the picture at one of the parks in NY, do we look alike? I've got blond hair like my dad though. :) Yes, I've FINALLy worked up the nerve to post a picture of myself.

So, we basically to the metro all around town on Tuesday and Thursday, and enjoyed it!

Tuesday, my friend from D.C. came up and joined us, so that was extra special and kept my mind off my appt's on Wed. We went to Central Park and just walked all over, that place is HUGE and really neat! We also went to the Metropolitan museum, and laughed, pointed and ooooed and aahhed our way through that massive and wonderful place full of ancient and modern art. My favorited exhibit was the one full of anciet armor for the knights of old days.  we joked that I'd finally found my 'kight in shining armor' that I've been looking for (this of course makes sense when you realize i've yet to go on a date)... they ate 'dirty-water-hot-dogs' and I ate a packed lunch and we soaked up the sun in the park before going back to the motel to watch movies.

Thursday- we promised not to talk about health problems, dr's or anything of that sort all day and mom and I had a blast! We went to the United Nations and toured it (this is done daily) and we had so much fun there. Next, we walked (I of course dragged myself like a penguin) a ways down 42nd street and past drummer's, break dancers, etc. and then took the metro to Times Squares. We have hilarious memories wandering around NY ''looking for Times Square". Then we wandered through a Gap Store, and then wondered back to a nice green park and finally parked ourselves at a nice little table to just rest. NY blocks are the longest blocks in the world to me so I felt like a piece of lead, happy lead of course. After a while we caught a bus down Lexington ave. and down 3rd back to our hotel... and collapsed. What a wonderfully fun day. :)

Now, I'm off to the rest of my day. I've got lots to do and not enough time to do it. I think I've had enough time to be blue and now I need to get out of my funk and get on with this thing called life. I'm sure you agree. So, that's that. I DID have fun....

Check out my pictures, I'm sure you'll agree.

I'm so glad you did something fun in that great city. Way to keep that dimpled chin up.

Lulu...
a dimple it is... a very prominent one too.... I was once told by an old gent that it was made by heavenly beings to that earthly men could place kisses in it... (smile) I've also been told that it's the thumbrint of god. :) whatever it is, I'm used to it, and it makes me "me"...!

Everyone else- thanks for the comments, and I too hope they find answers, and I will just keep living life, putting all that testing jazz on the back burner (how is that possible with everyone and their brother asking me either how I'm doing, what I have, or the likes, or a new symptom popping up) BUT I"M GOING TO KEEP TRYING and smiling and laughing all the same!

I'm off to paint cards for all my friends who have kept in in their thoughts and prayers this month, so I've got to get going, it will take me all  afternoon.... I'm not a professional painter, I've never had classes but I like to splash about paint and when I'm done I like the way it looks, and hey, it's a gift for them and if they don't like it.... they'd better not tell me, right? Seeings as I never plan on being an artist of great means, I don't need criticism to make me better... criticise my cooking and smile at my painting is my motto.... then, I will, of course, give you more painted cards, and make you cook your own food.

have a wonderful afternoon and enjoy this lovely fall weather, I think I will.

Glad you had a good time in NYC outside of all the doctor appts. I'm so sorry you didn't get any firm answers, but I hope they will keep working on that and that will come soon.

Thank you!! I did enjoy my time there, and of course, NY is so different from out slow, laid back southern town... and the fun languages from all over the world made it quite interesting to just listen to everyone talking... French, Italian, German, Hungarian, Russian and everything else you can imagine, just everything swirling around you was fun- and hard to understand!

I was happy to come home though... no place like home!

So glad you had a good time in NYC.  That's my favorite place to visit.  Funny you mentioned the long blocks...The north-south ones are reasonable, but my, oh my, those crosstown ones are a bear.

I love your pictures--thanks for posting them of your trip.  You look just as sweet as I pictured in mind!  Your mom does look like you--gorgeous and sweet.  I am happy, too, that you had a good time in the midst of everything you've gone through.  Your quite an inspiration to me, honey.

Hugs, Deb

By the looks of the pictures and now by your comments it sounds as though all it not lost by the medical garbage...you actually had a good time and I am sooo happy for you!  That is a place that I would love to see one day but in the meantime it's nice to live vicariously through a friend...thanks for sharing Sunshine!

Lots of Hugs,
Rena
