Muscle Spasms ?

OK, so I understand what causes the pin and needles and tingling, and numbness, fatigue in ms.  But what causes the muscle aches, stiffness and spasms?  I know it comes with the territory but does anyone understand what is the cause of it?

OK, lets see if this helps....

Think of the CNS as a bundle of electrical cords and the protective covering is pealing off exposing all the wires under neath it.. This will cause the electrical cords to short out..  causing all signals to get mixed up. It is these signals that allow the muscles to move when we want them to and to be quiet when we aren't using them.. Well with MS these same muscles are spasming, they are working over time even when we are sleeping, or resting. Some times we don't even feel the spasms, but they are there irregardless. Than when we ask them to do normal things like walk, type, whatever... they don't get the right message, so they don't work in the normal way. Yet some times they will start working again normally,, with out rhyme or reason... This is why is is so hard to find treatments...

When muscles are under stress from the misfiring of the nerves this causes them to ache and the bones to hurt due to not being supported correctly by the muscles.. Ms can strike where ever there are nerves and muscles including our organs...

I have a feeling I might have just added to your confusion, but at least I can say I tried..
i am sure a lot of our group will weigh in on this important subject... I hope they do any way...

Have a love filled day and know you are in my thoughts and prayers always

PS: No Matter What You Might Read Or Hear THERE IS NO CURE For MS, Treatments of course, BUT NOT A CURE....

from what I understand your nerves are getting "incorrect" signals that can cause your muscle to spasm. without you "telling" it to move, it does anyway due to the wrong signal.
