A little closer to answers ( I hope)

Yesterday was one of the craziest days I've had in a long time. I had an eye exam and a LP in the same day. I would not reccomend doing this to anyone else.
First I had an eye appt. (the only day I could get it done for 1/2 mo.) I was supposed to just have my eyes dialated, and a vision check, but it turned into 4 tests in all, which took 3 HRS to complete. I have a good eye Dr., but i wasn't thinking i'd be there for so long.
We just got home, took the baby to my mom-in-laws and drove 1 1/2 hrs in the pouring rain, to the place to have the LP done. We were there just about on time (a little early) foe admissions and such.I was sooo afraid of the test, but the nurses were nice and the dr. had a strong, steady hand. It was on the stomach with the monitor and stuff.... the only thing i didn't like was when i was done, the dr said i didn't have to lie flat for the hr and told me to get up and go ahead home.......uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
so I did ( don't do this!!) whitin about 10mins, my head was on fire and so was my back. i was in the waiting room holding for the blood draw when the nurse saw me pale and ready to drop and asked me if i neded to lie down.. i NEEDED to.
It took another 1/2 hr for the lab to come and get my blood! They almost messed up my name and stuff, but when i said you better make sure it is right or i have to do thi again, the nurse came in and said i was right and  to make sure it was done right.
so here i am at home after a lloonngggg 1 1/2 hr ride back and a lonng nite of lying flat. My head is still pounding, but the actual procedure wasn't bad, just the numbing agent needle, si thank you all who's advice helped me out more than you could know!!!
I'll let you know the outcome when i get it, btw, at least my fluid was clear.
any questions/things i forgot to mention? please let me know and i;ll do my best to answer.

Shell, Heather, Ren-
Thanks for thinking of me. I am trying to take it easy.My mom-in-law cooked me a belated b-day dinner and a carrot cake. So diner was wonderful ,except the darn headache stopped me from realy enjoying it, and she had to leave early because of me :o(
My hubby blushed with your comment Heather, he is so nieve to his wonderful self :o)
I am SSOOO glad that i had everyone here to let me in on it all for the LP, if not i'm sure i'd be in a world of hurt.. and i'd of been even more petrafied. I owe everyone ere a big hug :o) ((((HUGS)))))
If i can't get rid of the ache by tommorow @ 3:00pm( hubby home from work) i will have to go to the ER, and see what's up. If i do that i'm taking my mri's with me and seeing if they have any idea on how to fix the rest of me ( statisticly they will have no idea, but it's worth a  try) I am going to call my neuro in the AM and tell him to get the results or send them to the ER when he does.. maybe i'll get the results quicker.LOL nice thought :o)
well, headache is winning and i can't sit up any longer, i will let you all know the results when i get them, and the Starbucks doubleshots are what i'm trying now for caffine, coffee didn't seem to like me so far, and I don't like soda.
Thanks to all for the birthday wishes, sorry I can't type you all back individually right now :o) but i hope you read this :o)
All 4 now,
Loni aka Ulanie :o)

Glad to hear you made it through. Can't believe they didn't have you lie there for a bit. They shouldn't feel they are doing you a favor by letting you go early.

I'm so glad YOU knew what to do!

Keep us posted.

Oh, my.  I'm sorry for your adventure.  I haven't have an LP headache before but I am certainly familiar with headaches. Relax.  I'm glad you have a hubby that takes care of you. Thank him for us.

Let us know when you find anything out!

Hi,
Sorry to hear you have the headache from the LP. Make sure you drink lots of caffeine and stay well hydrated. The caffeine according to the doc who did my LP said its supposed to help with the headache. If it doesn't subside by the end of the weekend, call the doctor. They can do a blood patch that will relieve the headache.

Take care of yourself.

haven't done a thing, except bathroom. My hubby is taking good care of me, and i'm doing nothing.
Headache is pretty bad, but i;ve had a perm. ache on my right side for 7 months, so i'm used to it on at least one side...lol
I'll catch up more detail once i feel better, thanks for the re:
