So much of this medication is trial and error. Just like no two of us are alike in our MS symptoms, we can't be sure how we will react to a certain drug. If your doctor is thinking it will work, I would try it. Be sure to monitor how well you do and then let him know if it doesn't work.
Keep the skepticism but also keep and open mind!

hey thanks for getting back.~~The doc wanted to put me on it cuz of the spasticity!!! SHould I be concerned?----I too am on a "boat load" of meds. And I could ONLY IMAGINE what he'd put me on for dizziness!! hehe---I'm startin to think--something gasoline based! hehe---Well, I'll keep ya posted. But, I'll also admit, now I'm a little skeptical.
Hi, I took Lyrica for quite a while, but had been on narcotics for a long time - still am. So, I didn't have too much of the dizziness etc. I did, however, have muscle twitches which made me stop. I was jerking and finally figured out it was the Lyrica. I can't say it did much either. BUT, as I said, I was already on quite a bit of medication. It certainly will effect everyone differently. Best of luck to you. I agree, anything is worth a try. I'm now on Baclofen for spasticity. Jan
THANKS FOR GETTING BACK!~~~Yeah, my neuro wants me to go on it for the pain, and all the joy that goes with Ms.---As for the nausea, dizziness, and blah feelings are a given with me, hehe. They are my constant companions. again hehe.--He wants me to go on it for the nasty spasticity. And like I told him this Am, I'm "up" for trying anything new--old--dead--whatever! I just know I can't stand it much longer.--He did tell me that when I tstart the Lyrica--NOT to take the Neurontin (1500mg) for 1 week, to see how my ole body handles it.----So, I was just hoping someone was on it and could give me a "head's up'.---So, thanks for the insight!---although I told the doc, I hate to give up my mega dose of Neurontin, but heck, I'll try anything.!! Again thanks.
Hi!
I haven't ever taken this med, but I agree with everything Heather says. I can remember it worked for some here, but not for others.
Good luck with it, and I hope it really helps.
Take care,

You'll get mixed opinions about Lyrica. It works for some and others say they felt no relief. Rena took Lyrica and so did I. In my case, I think my doctor tried to raise the dosage too fast and it made me very sick. While I was on the lower dose, I noticed alot of dizziness and no real relief. But that's me.... It certainly works for others that are on it.
I had nausea, dizziness and just a feeling of being un-well when I took Lyrica. I do suggest if you do take it, that you start at a low dose and go up on the drug very, very slowly. I think that's true of all medications. We have to give our bodies time to adjust to new medications.
I was prescribed Lyrica for pain from MS. I am sorry that it didn't seem to work for me. I had high hopes for it.
I hope it works for you. Remember go up on the dosage slowly and give it a chance.
Best Wishes,
Heather
