HOT HOT HOT-not a question, just grumping..

It has been over 100F here for over a week!  I am getting cabin feaver.  When I go anyware, the car gets so hot that you never really recover.  I have got to go to the grocery store today. I am going to try to go just before dark.  We have not had any rain in a couple of weeks.  The Mississippi gulf coast is literally buring up! All ofthe grass is turning yellow and is crunchy.

The boys want desperately to go somewhere and play.  I took them to an inside playgroud at a fast food place.  By the time that I loaded them in the car and got home, I was sick with heat.  I had to park all of the way in the back(popular place).  I have started leaving my windows cracked and praying that nobody steals the car.  Pray for some releaf!

Opie,

Hi my name is Missy.  Just thought i'd mention my mom lives in Port St. Lucie and she's been telling me how hot it is there.  Over 100 I believe yesterday.  My mom's favorite expression about the weather  is  "Oh its just Beastly here!" :o)

Hope u get relief soon.....  I live in NY and we have had literally nothing but rain the entire month I believe except for 3 days in June. We are drowning.

Thanks for listening.  We played hide and seek with popsickles today.  They thought that was fun!  I have an old hot water bottle, I think that I will fill it with ice tomorrow and give it a try.

Ice packs work great to get to the car, but if you're somewhere, it's hard to get a cold ice pack for the trip back home.

It's been really hot here for a couple of weeks.  Today it got up to 102° - tomorrow it should be 101°.  It might get below 100° next week...  So I can sympathize!  It feels like I'm in a pseudo-flare all the time.  I get to work, feeling really cruddy, and about three hours later, I recover from the heat and start feeling better.

OK, prayers for a break in the weather for you are on the way.

It's only about 80 here today, and the heat in my car made me feel sick after each stop, so I can imagine how awful 100+ would make it.

Can you create a game for the boys like bobbing for ice cubes?  Put a little food coloring in some ice cubes so they'll show up.... sounds crazy now that I put it in writing, sorry.
:o)

How about an ice pack or two when you have to go get in the car; one around your neck and one behind your back, to help you out until the air conditioning kicks in?  I figure it's still pretty hot even after dark, but at least your car won't get as hot while you're in shopping.
