For a long time last year, my scalp tingled and buzzed - very weird sensation. Definitely get an appointment with the doc - it sounds neurological, but at this point, it's hard to say what it is.
Have you ever had a cervical (neck) MRI? Sometimes impingement of one of the cervical nerves can cause shooting pains like you're describing. Sorry, you didn't say pain, you said pulses. I'm confused...
OK, if these electrical pulses are painful, then there is a possiblility that they are caused by nerve impingement.
Regardless, I think that seeing your doctor is an important first step in figuring out what's going on. Or, second step, since the first step was finding this wonderful forum.
Welcome!

Hi, Sonya, and welcome to the forum!
If you're looking for a place to feel comfortable asking about odd symptoms -- this would be that place!!
Many here have talked about experiencing the sensation of shooting electric like impulses in various parts of their bodies, including the head. I get these a lot. Some people get electric sort of jolts in their extremities when they tilt their head down, like putting their chin to their chest. This can be a sign of MS.
I'm not sure about getting the electric jolt in the head when moving the head to the side, like you describe. There may be others who experience this who will respond and let you know what they experience.
Do you have any other symptoms? How long has this been bothering you?
Thanks very much for posting! We are eager to get to know you!
Feel well!
