Have you tried any energy drinks? Get a few of the ones with the most caffine in them, I had a headache for 3 days with mine and I was just a mess - tried to lay flat -then felt better so of couse I would get up........

Well husband looked up the energy drink with the most caffine in it and it was NOS - so he went and bought me a few of those - I drank it and felt better - then kept drinking like 2 a day for 2 days - felt good.
Before that I been drinking 2 to 3 cans of pop (diet dew) -apparently not enough caffine.
good luck - I hope you feel better soon - I know it is miserable!

Hey, crying at the doctor does work - or you could go to the ER!  Either way let us know how you do.

My back has been problematic all along - I can't blame my problems on the LP.

Hi I had the blood patch 3 days after my LP i went to the er couldnt stand up any longer with the worst headache I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. Your neuro should be ashamed of himself making you wait this long. my relief from the patch was within minutes no pain but I did have pressure on the back of my head for a few days but that was nothing compared to the headache. If your doctor says no go straight to the er tell them you had a Lp and they will get you fixed up. best wishes'

when i'm flat it does help for the most part. i just left a message at the doc office again, i'm just going to cry and see if that'll work.

for those of you who have had a blood patch, after the head pain is gone how does the back feel?

When you stand does the pain in the head radiate to the neck and jaw? Like a vice?

How does it feel when you lay flat? Does it resolve?

Don't go anywhere w/this going on except for to the ER or facility you had the LP. It could resolve by laying, but you may need the patch.  Neuro is dragging feet! That's just bs. Sorry to be blunt - but there is no reason to not take advantage of the fix!

I agree that its unbelievable your neuro doesn't want the blood patch. Maybe a trip to the ER and you can relay to them that you had an LP, they can contact your neuro and explain that it is necessary to do the blood patch. I wish you luck, this has to be hard on you.

Call your neuro again and if he still doesn't want to do the patch maybe it would be a good idea to take that trip to the ER

Keep us posted,
HUGS,
Paula

Oh, no...  it does sound like you need a blood patch.  I can't believe that your neuro hasn't allowed it.  It's a very easy fix - you should be right as rain once they put some back in you.
