Hey Fluffysmom - how did your doctor's visit go?

Just thought I'd check in and see how your latest visit went. Did you go ahead with your decision to start copaxone treatments?

I have my first visit with an MS specialist tomorrow afternoon. Right now I'm working on being cautiously optomistic that it will go better than my previous neurologist experiences.

It sounds like you have indeed finally found a really good one. At least now you're going to get the treatment you need.

I've heard a lot of really great things about Dr. H through others. She's on the MS Society board, so I hope this is a good indication too.

Hope the Avonex works well for you - keep us posted.

I must tell you how good it feels to have finally found a good neurologist.  I can't say it enough:  THERE ARE GOOD, EVEN GREAT, NEUROLOGISTS OUT THERE!!!!

Dr. C. and I discussed my possibilites, and he suggested that Avonex would be the best choice for me instead of Copaxone, and I agreed after his very informative explanation.

I'm signed up, and waiting to hear from his office when my Avonex Starter Kit arrives, so that I can go in and they can show me how to do my injections and give me my supplies and information.  

I'll be following up with Dr. C. every 12 weeks as I settle in to treatment.  I look forward to building a great doctor/patient relationship with this brilliant and compassionate man.

I hope that your visit with you MS specialist goes very well indeed.  I fervently hope that yours is one of the truly good ones.
