I was dx w/M.S. last Nov. 2009. This disease is still new territory for me. I have had a flare up here in the last 2 months that no one can figure out. I have had a fever of 99-101. Increased fatigue, broke out with a severe rash that itches and hurts and I'm miserable. My doctors have done several lab tests for everything it all came back normal but my thyroid level was a little off. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the forum.  Actually sounds pretty normal for MS.. I have had lots of inexplainable symptoms.  I also get hives, and have yet to find out what is causing it and I may never find out.

I am on copaxone but for some reason I never blame anything on it. I have not had a flare for a long time and my MS doc said my MS is stable.  I had new MRI's done in April.

I was dx in Feb 2008 and it has taken awhile to get to this point,  It may not last forever but its good for now.  But now I have COPD to deal with and pneumonia right now.

I do take a few vitamin suppliments, all suggested by my DR. but I would not add another pill to my list just for fun..lol

keep coming back, its a wonderful support group !!

hugs, meg

Hi Serenity and welcome. This is a great place to be but the weekends tend to get quiet.  I'm not a medical expert but the fever you are running probably is connected to this flare in some way.  Infections are a sure way to set off a flare - I just went through one myself thanks to a UTI.

Increased temperature is also a way to create havoc in our bodies.  With that low grade fever continuing, I would be miserable, too.

Rash and itching is such a broad category - some sort of dematitis reaction to an irritant?  Shingles? Allergic reaction to one of your drugs?  Many people here have had a problem with copaxone - are you by chance on this?

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I hope you will stick around and see if anyone else has some suggestions.

be well, Lulu
