Mine was 3 weeks. DR send the form to Shared Solutions, who ships the "Welcome Kit", and Auto Injector. They sent the stuff to my Prescription Insurance. Then I had to apply for the "Shared Commitment Program" that will cover up to $50 per month of the prescription deductible. I ended up paying the deductible for the first 3 months, but it looks like the "Shared Commitment Program" will have it from here on out.
There may be some fits and starts in the beginning.

I was prescribed my Copaxone on November 4th, and took my first injection on November 22nd. My doctor's office is impossible to deal with and they were late in sending in the authorization for the insurance. Good luck!

Mary is right. It took me about 3 weeks before I finally received my first shipment. My neurologists office told me ifr I hadn't heard from SS within 2 weeks to call them. I did and they called SS to see what was holding things up. I got my shipment and visit from the nurse within a week.
Call and check on what is going on. You should get your copaxone before the nurse comes. They schedule it that way. Good-luck.

Once the doctor's office notifies Shared Solutions of the prescription, it takes days to weeks for the process to unfold. It seems to me that I got something in the mail that let me know SS had my name and address. Then they sent the syringe long before I had the med in hand. The nurse called me independently to set up instruction.
SS couldn't figure out my insurance but never bothered to call me or the insurance to ask questions. I ended up investigating cost and supply methods myself to help speed the process. The recent holidays probably have slowed things but it never hurts to check.
Somebody will probably be along here to help you who has more conventional insurance and a better memory than I about how this works.
