I never go to the hospital my PCP gives me the medications.
Alex
I went one time because my convulsions wouldn't stop that said I was dehydrated so once they gave me fluids I was better and if that's the case with you the only place to get fluids is the hospital
Thank you for all of your very kind comments. I ended up taking a dose of Klonopin and curling up on the couch for a couple of hours yesterday as I really don't like hospitals and didn't want to go back after being there only two weeks ago. It was much improved after that. I'm still getting episodes of it but not as bad as yesterday thank goodness.
I have read/heard of many people who end up in the ER from the poorly named MS hug! Being phobic of hospitals and ER's....I stay home and wait till it goes away.
Good luck - feel well.

You should let someone know. I have had diaphragm spasms for years caused by something else. They gave me liquid valium when they are really bad. It tastes horrible but if I take it as they come on they go away.

Hi Poppy74 Id like to reply to this in that I had a friend in Australia who awoke with the same type of pain in her ribs, I urged her to get it checked out. She described the pain like as if her ribs were broken or beaten.
Turned out she had bloodclots in her lung and my urging her to go the hospital saved her life. So just a heads up Id have it checked.
And the last time I had bad rib pain all I had done was lift a box and suddenly they hurt bad, had it checked and I had fractured 2 of my ribs. :/ so its best to get it checked out either way, remember ribs take a long Long time to heal.
Poppy, I'd say go to emergency if it's that dramatic and continuing . Just in case. Take care. Will be thinking of you.
Go t A&E. They maybe able to give you some muscle relaxants or something, and bloody hell we pay enough taxes for our health system, they might start believing you that it's MS. Big hugs
