I could of sworn the past couple weeks we had a fewe of members lined up for lumbar punctures....

How we doing? And, if you've already posted an update, i apologize and please point me to it.

Waiting on the baer/ver results before they schedule the LP. Not really looking foward to that test :(

CSF can be kept for a bit. Lab will keep it in good care for a couple to a few weeks. They do this sometimes anyway incase additional tests are ordered by doctor (given they obtained enough samples to do so).

Maureen, enough of this weather-mess already, huh? Maybe this means early spring - can only pray.

I just have to be patient she is running other test for auto disorders some kind of cerebullum thing ?? not sure of the name so I'm not sure if they need that to run the other test I guess I will have to wait and see...

  They send these things to many labs around the country this is normal. I think mine was six weeks and went to California, The Mayo, etc. I am sure they know the shelf life and how to handle it etc. It is not like a blood draw so they are careful with it.

I had one on December 30 th ..just got email from the nurse that  MS panel is pending there is an national back order on the reagent for Mylan basic protein needed for the test...The clinic in Utah said that they will not be receiving any until 01/26/11 for testing...so it will be awhile...I was just curious does anyone know if spinal fluid goes bad for testing purposes I really don't want to have another one...

Hi Shell. I had one right before New Year's. It came back normal. Minimal spinal headache.

It was a nowhere deal. Neuro says he doesn't have enough evidence of inflammation to refer me up a level, diagnose or treat.

Neuro-opth found signs there might be damage to my optic nerve and has ordered further testing. My VEP has been postponed another week.

My PCP referred me for one, but my neurologist still hasn't called me to schedule anything.  I think I may call them to figure things out.  My PCP wants a LP and another MRI.

I am nervous for the LP.  But I have done my research so I feel like I'm ready for it and prepared.
