I'm Getting Another Opinion

Hello Everyone!  I'm sorry I was so absent this weekend, I am still stunned by the latest neuros revelation.  My pcp does not believe it to be a seizure disorder and I don't think it is either.  I do believe what the neuro was saying was a seizure was in fact me trembling from the pain.  I had to drive over an hour away, walk what seems like 5 miles, and I was in SOOOO much pain by the time I got there.  Who knows?  Mine seemed to know it all.  I have had 2 normal EEG's in the last four months, I take a seizure med for pain.  Blah-Blah....

What has me so concerned is why would he say the area of your brain affected is causing my symptoms?  He would not say what he saw.  I know what I see on the MRI but I don't know how and where and what it is.  I guess I striked out this time.  I just wanted to let you all know I'm still here and still spazie.

Love to All,

Ada

I'M DOING GOOD,THANKS FOR ASKING.

I TRIED FLEXERIL AND IT DIDN'T HELP MUCH FOR THE SPASMS.

GETTING A SECOND OR THIRD OPINION,SOMETIMES IS WHAT IT TAKES, TO ACTUALLY FIND A DR. THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

DON'T SETTLE FOR JUST ANY OLD DX, YOU KNOW YOUR BODY AND PLEASE LISTEN TO IT.

HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A GOOD DAY

Thank you for being here for me, I love you guys very much and I appreciate the never ending support and friendship here.
The only thing I got out of the neuro was he said the part of my brain affected is causing my symptoms, he did not elaborate just said I need to have another EEG.  It is so annoying.... I have requested the radiology report and the office visit notes, so we'll see what happens....
Thanks again everyone for being a friend to me.  Love to all,

Ada

I don't blame you for seeking a different opinion because the seizure disorder just doesn't add up. I have known several people that have seizure disorders from focal seizures (local area of the brain) to grand mal (generalized, all of the brain) and your symptoms don't match. If you were suffering from a seizure disorder I would think that your symptoms would only last for hours or at the most a day.

An EEG can be normal even when you have a seizure disorder. It's a matter of causing a seizure to happen during that time when your hooked up to an EEG machine. Sometimes that's easier said than done.

Do you have lesions on your brain? I could be wrong, so don't quote me on this one, but I don't believe seizure cause lesions. It's just the eletrical part of the brain malfunctioning. A lesion can cause a seizure but the lesion has to be pretty big to do so.

Take Care & Good Luck On Your 2nd opinon

HI THERE! HOW ARE YOU DOING? TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, I AM TAKING FLEXERIL FOR THE SPASMS AND TAKING GABAPENTIN TO CURB SOME OF THE PAIN. I ALSO WILL WEAR LIDODERM PATCHES WHEN IT IS REALLY BAD, THEY ARE EXPENSIVE LITTLE BOOGERS THOUGH.

Sending Cyber Hugs,

Ada

WHEN IN DOUBT, GET ANOTHER OPINION, GET A COPY OF THE MRI REPORT.

AFTER TWO EEG'S THEY SHOULD OF SHOWED SOMETHING .

GO BY YOUR GUT INSTINCT.

ARE THEY TREATING YOUR SPASMS OR JUST THE PAIN FROM THEM?
