I'm dying...not literally though

Or At least I wish I was today. I caught a cold and/or sinus infection the end of last week. Sore throat, running and stuffy nose, Pressure pain behind the cheek bones. Cough, everything that goes with those infections. Well except no fever as doctors label things. only 98.6 , but I usually sit at 96.8 normally.

Went to the VA ER on Monday about my index finger hurting and this cold. The doctor was an absolute idiot. After explaining about how the finger hurts, my cold/sinus infection, soar throat, and having MS without any test of any kind his conclusion was that I had a cold and tendinitis. I mean no X-ray, no exam of throat, no nothing. He then did a splint of my finger ( not in the right area for where the pain is), and prescribed a medication to take for what he said was the problem with my finger. The insert of the drug specifically states that it is not to be taken by anyone that has had bypass surgery. The doctor knew I have heart problems.

So by Tuesday I am feeling like death warmed over. I was scheduled to have an appointment with my MS Neuro but there is no way I could drive 2 hours each way for the visit. I really wanted to go but between the very blurry vision and the extreme pain in my lower lungs when I coughed there was no way that was going to happen. So that has been rescheduled for may 13.

I actually felt a lot better this morning (after 15 hours of sleep). so I figured I make the 1 hour trip for the appointment I had today to get my new AFO.  That appointment went kind of OK. The fit my feet pretty good and seem to work as they should. Only one problem though. They won't fit in my shoes. :) So the clinic put in a call to get me some special shoes to fit the braces. :)

But now that I am back home I feel like death warmed over again. I guess going to that one appointment was more than I should have done. Oh and I am more convinced than ever that the index finger pain is MS. Yesterday when I got up my right shin has been feeling like it is broken just like the index finger does.

What a miserable week for you!

Nothing is more frustrating than having to waste time with an idiot doctor! Last year I had strep throat so bad that I couldn't even swallow my own spit...I was just letting it drool out into a washcloth. Went to the doctor who insisted it couldn't possibly be strep because "my throat wasn't even pink". Gave me a dx of post-nasal drip, but took a strep test anyway because I was crying like a crazy woman. (I couldn't take my meds because I couldn't swallow.) Long story short, it was strep. Duh!

I don't recall, is your index finger pain constant? I get awful pain in my fingers like someone has smashed them with a hammer. Sometimes in my foot/toes too. It's very weird...and isn't helped by anything OTC.

Hope you get to feeling better soon!
