Cooling Mattress! UGH so hot at night!

I'm not sleeping very well these days, I wake up so hot. It takes quite a while for me to cool down after getting up, I even keep my house at 68 degrees; nothing helps. I am going to get a cooling mattress; I'm just not sure which one to get. Anyone have an opinion?

I have had MS a long time.  Bed heat IS an issue.   what works for me is an air mattress that is a blow up from Costco. About $120.00 for a queen.  I put either a wool blanket and/or cotton pad under the sheets.  Sometimes an egg crate foam pad for comfort.  The cool comes from underneath....you have to experiment what works.   Make sure you get c a lighter sheet set 300 count max otherwise too hot ......leather maintains even heat check the sofa out.  Good luck. I can't help you with a mattress but just read that a cooling cap can help some people sleep better at night.  Thinking it works like wearing a hat in the cold weather to keep your body warm only in reverse?

Lots of new cooling products to try.  If you get a cooling mattress, please let us know how it works for you.

gypcwmn: I need to correct myself, their actually mattress pads, not mattresses. To get an idea of what's out there, I found this website that compares them. http://www.nextag.com/cool-mattress-pad/shop-html
I covet your 63 degrees, my kids would think they where freezing to death if I kept my house at that temp, but I'd love too!

Deb61: I don't think I've seen one that adjusts to your body temp, but there is one that you can adjust from warm to cool on the web site above. I go to bed a little cold sometimes, but always wake up just roasting. It feels like my mattress is radiating heat back into me, I will move around and try to find cool places on my mattress where I haven't been, it gets a little ridiculous. lol

I get too cold, then too hot, then too cold.  I cannot sleep!  For me, the cold causes just as many problems as the heat.  The spasticity is caused from either extreme is is quite painful, so I don't think a cooling mattress would help me.  I wish I could have a mattress that automatically adjusts to my body temperature to keep it with  normal range!
