Is it possible that Hepatitis is linked to MS?

When I was 4, I supposedly had Hepatitis.  I still have elevated alkali-phosphotase.  (I'm not sure if I spelled that correctly).  Does anyone know if Hepatitis can cause MS?  I know the Dr. never contacted the Health Dept. and wonder if it is because maybe I really didn't have that.  I sometimes think I could have had a tick borne illness and wonder if it's related to my MS.

I had what my prior PCP called "non-hepatitis hepatitis" a few years ago.  Something caused my liver enzymes to skyrocket.  I went to the doctor for generally feeling miserable all over, and when the blood tests came back, they called me to come in and repeat them right away.  They tested me for all the known strains of hepatitis, all negative, but said that something had obviously inflamed my liver, so it had to be called "hepatitis" in the sense that it was inflammation of the liver.  The only thing that tests high nowadays is ALT, and that only slightly.  It could be attributable to fatty liver, or to the many doses of acetomeniphen that I take regularly.

Still, until I am dx with MS, I suppose none of this means much to your original question.  Just the same, there is a lot of opinion that there may be some sort of viral involvement that precedes MS, but I've not heard of any evidence of it.

I don't think there is a link, but I'm not a doctor.  And actually the doctors still ddon't know what brings on MS.

Have you been checked for Lyme disease?  It is a common MS mimic, including brain lesions.  It would be worth looking into......
