Is this a spasm?

Hi there,
I am on a roll this morning with the questions, as I have had a rough week or so.  I have always had what I thought was spasms in my thighs, like a quick contraction type pain when walking, and sometimes i get a cramp like contraction in my calf muscles, not sure if this is cramp or a spasm, but last night I kept getting bad cramp like contractions in my foot and down into my toes but it made my baby toe and the one next it flare one way with a big wide space between the next group of toes, the contraction was so forced that it made my toes spread and go weird, not sure if I am explaining this right, so was this a spasm, boy was it painful and I felt like my toes had gone in an abnormal position and then they returned to normal.

Hope this is making sense.

Udkas.

Oh yeah, I've had that too. I want to reach down and grab my foot when it happens.

I use Flexeril (Cyclobenzaprine) 10 mg every night at bedtime.  If I don't, my feet an calves will remind me in the middle of the night.

This is the exact reason I take Zanaflex at night.  The calf/toe/foot cramping are awful.  I started getting these during the days at times too, but I cant take zanaflex during the day, it knocks me out.

I think so - I get this in my right foot.  One night I woke up with a toe spasm that would not stop - I had to sleep on my stomach and push my toe against the bed.
