Just curious - has any one heard of this

Has any ones neuro mentioned this new drug. At the moment I'm not on a DMD .

But the last two visits I've had to my neuro he has spoken about this new  oral therapy  that will be licensed late spring to early summer. I'm only at the probable M.S. stage of diagnosis and having my symptoms only treated . My next appointment is in April , and i guess I'm just curious to see If any body else has mentioned it.

My sister has been taking this same medication (Fumaderm) for about a year now for severe psorosis .the major side effects of it are G.I. disturbances , hot  flushes and facial flushing.

If you are interested in seeing the results of the DEFINE trial, you can view the ECTRIMS 2011 poster at

This is the #1 viewed poster (online access) from the most recent convening of this group.  I hope the buzz and excitement about BG-12 is correct.

Does Ireland have to wait for FDA approval too?  I guess so since the manufacture/marketing is out of the US offices of Biogen Idec.

That was an interesting link you chose to post.  The investment angle concerning BG-12 sure reads different than the pharmaceutical one!  I found it amusing and irritating at the same time.

My optimism about these new trials is always tempered with lots of caution.  PwMS have been disappointed so many times in the past.  I'm hopeful but doubt I'll be rushing to give up the injectable that has proven itself safe and effective in my case.  I'm usually conservative enough to let others trial new stuff.  I do hope it works though!!

BG-12 looked really good to the medical experts gathered at ECTRIMS in the fall.  The results of the trials were much better than even their experts expected.  I am looking forward to its approval.

best,
