I HAVE HAD VERTIGO FOR YEARS , TRY VERTIGOHEEL , ITS JUST OUT ALSO NO SALT AND NO COLA DRINKS , MIGHT HELP /
Chrisy Sorry to hear about your symptoms. Definately keep a note of your episodes and tell your neuro ASAP.
To everyone:
I have had a few eipsodes (2 I recall for sure) over the past 12 years where I felt like the whole world was spinning and I needed to lay my head on a cold toilet (nausea) for over an hour.
One time I was at a friends house and I thought I had food poisoning. I was so embarrased. The other time I recall my husband having to carry me out to the couch cuz I had no strength to walk.
I have never mentioned these episodes to a Dr. Do you think that could have been MS related vertigo?? I was just dx'd in Feb of this year and I don't think it has happened this year but so much has gone on I can't really remember.
Anyway, from reading this I am really curious about your opinions.

I have been experiencing Vertigo since May 2009. I had about 12 bouts of it until late August....since then I have only had a few mild cases....the first episode of it was quite scary. I had just finished parking my car and then the whole room was spinning and I couldnt get out of my car fast enough... I wobbled all the way to work from the parking lot and im surprised i stayed on my feet....anyways to make a long story short, the doctors think I have Menieres disease but all my preliminary tests have come up clean... hearing is perfect, brain stem activity is fine... I had the head scan for a tumor, that was clean. The only other link to Menieres is that I have Tinnitus (ringing in my ears). Im thinking it is Stress related but I dont know.

Vertigo was my first symptom and then all the other ones started... no dr could come up with anything to help my Vertigo except steriods...only helped while taking it... vertigo came back when I stopped them.
I don't get it so often at the moment, but when I do I hate it... it will knock me down where I cant get up for 15 min sometimes longer... and feel very tired afterwards....
please keep track and let your Neuro Dr know about these... mine feel like the room moves back and forth...
take care

I am 52 years young, female, never had any health issues. I have had a mild to severe headache which at some point shoots pain through my eyes for the last two months or so, which I never have. The last two nights I guess I have i guess I have experianced Vertigo which I have only heard people talk about. I was turning in my sleep and woke up spinning, I also am experiancing blurred vision. Good to hear I am not alone!! I am going to the eye doctor today to see if something can be done with my vision
Once I realized that I wasn't going to pass out - that I was just going to feel like the room was spinning - it got a little easier to tolerate. Seems weird, I know! But I had vertigo for almost a year before it finally went away. Hang in there!
I don't like the vertigo either - for me I think it is one of the scarier symptoms I experience.
Yeah, it sounds like a relapse. That vertigo is no fun - it wore me out. I found absolutely nothing that would help, except sleep.
I emailed my neuro this morning & she said to keep track of this - she is going to have her nurse call me to discuss this further.
I am feeling steadier - so I drove in to work this morning. I think I might be having a flare or episode - I am having my typical left arm tingling/burning, left leg pain, tingling in my leg, and fatigue...so the vertigo could be part of a relapse I guess.
Thanks for your input - I love this place - I am so grateful that we all understand what the other is going through.
Hugs,
Chrisy
Sorry you have vertigo. It is one of the most annoying symptoms I have had.
My advice:
Yes, contact your neuro.
No, don't drive until you speak to your neuro and/or it has been several days since your last episode (advice I was given from my neuro).
The Antivert did nothing for me but does seem to help others. Over the counter , it's known as Bonine for motion sickness.
Hope you feel better soon,
Ren
What you both describe is exactly what I experienced. I am still somewhat wobbly this morning - had some vertigo last night too.
I am wondering if I should contact my neuro. I am not sure if I should drive.
I have not been prescribed anything for the vertigo as it has been mostly at night.

Sorry to hear you are on the vertigo roller coaster. I recently had a pretty bad bout of it too. I took Antivert, and I seemed to be doing better. I got back to a regular routine, and now it is coming in waves.
I was in the food court with my family the other day and it felt like maybe the whole building was moving, like when you stand on those kiddie bridges at play grounds that swing free. It lasted for about ten minutes, and then it went away. Very strange and unsettling.
Hang in there. Are you taking anything for the vertigo spells?
Take care,

Yes, I have experienced this same thing while seated at a table in a restaurant with my husband. It felt as if the table was falling away beneath my hands as I gripped the sides of the table. The table also appeared to be spinning temporarlily.
I don't have any answers for you. Both of my neuros just nodded and said , 'Yes that happens sometimes eith MS.' Not much comfort and not much support other than to offer me Antivert around the clock and Valium at night to calm the vertigo.
If you come across something better for treatment, please let me know. In the meantime, know that you are not alone. Pastor Dan posted recentl;y that he experiences similar sensations as well.
Wishing you well,
Ren
