Just has my 1st copaxone injection

Hi All

Just sending and update,  I just had my 1st Copaxone
injection. about an hour ago.
Just have a small red welt at injection site. not bad at
all.  The auto injector made things so easy and painless.
I feel so relieved. Now that the first one is out of  the way.
Off to my nero for updating tomorrow with symptom history
in hand.  lol

Thank You to all that have been so
                                                     supportive in all this

I am so glad that you finally were able to take your medicine and everything went well.  I'm still waiting for my Copaxone ordered the first week of February!  I do see the order showing up on Medco's website--which is a very good sign.  One of these days they'll get around to sending it!

Best wishes, Gollie, and have a great night's sleep!

Hi All:

Thank you all so much for you support and compassion.
Yes it feels great to finally get started on copaxone, I so
hope it will help to slow the MS process.  I am glad to
hear your all doing well on the copaone as well.

Now I get to see the nero for follow up in morning
and see about dealing with some of the other issues
I have been posting about.  Finally, get some of
these health issues cleared up after all the limboland
time.
I know everone is probably getting sick of hearing me
say it,  But if it was not for All the people in this form
I would have been lost with no direction to go in.

I only hope that by participating in the form that
in some small way I will be able to return the
compassion and support for others. That I have
recieved from all of you!

Well time some sleep.

I'm doing very well with Copaxone. I get stinging at the injection site, nothing horrible though, and don't even get welts or redness. The area stays a bit tender to the touch for several days but I don't really notice it and it doesn't interfere with anything.

According to the Copaxone people, 90% of users never get the flushing/palpitations thing. I was a little afraid of that but so far so good. At least if it ever happens I'll know why and I'll know it will be gone within a few minutes.

Gollie, I hope your experience is as smooth as mine. We're doing something about this awful MS!

Hi La

yes this is an everyday injection. It goes under the skin
not down into the muscle.  I can see it is
going to be a breeze with auto inject. ( I need the everyday
meds) I would completly forget and mess up if I chose one
that i had to use every other day or once a week.

The main side effects are with the injection sites and
not everyone has problems with it.

The below pharagraphs I am copying from my book lol
very rarley:
some may get flushing, chest pain, weakness,
infection, joint pain, anxiety and muscle stiffness. These reactions
are usually mild and seldom require professional treatment.

some patients report a short-term reaction right after injecting.
This reaction can involve flushing (feeling of warmth and/or redness)
chest tightness or pain withheart palpitations and trouble breathing.
these symptoms generally appear within minutes of an injection, and
last about 15 mins, and go away by themselves without further problems.

so I hope I dont get any of them so far so good.
                                                                        Hope this Helps
                                                                          Gollie

Yeah! Glad it is done.  Are there any side effects with Copaxone?  Is that an everyday injection?
