Greetings!

I have had a MRI done because of dizzy feelings and lightheadedness....what came back, as the report said, was unknown white matter....is this the same as lesions?  My doctor suggested it might be MS, but he also said he'd be shocked if it were...

I'm just a tad confused about all of this...and my neuro appt isn't until April.

Thank for your reading...

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.  You'll learn a lot here no matter what you are experiencing.  You may find that our new Health Pages Section covers a lot of what you are wondering about lesions and MRI's. It's located up toward the top right of the webpage.  Click on it and you'll see the topics.

Again, welcome,
Be well,
SL

Hi there,

If it helps at all my report says "Within the right frontal white matter, 3 small foci of T2 hyperintensity are seen which represent nonspecific white matter disease".  I am seeing an MS doc and have another MRI and EMG test in 2 weeks.  I went to begin with because of episodes of losing my balance.  Over the last year other symptoms have presented but I also have reactive arthritis.  Read as much as u can on this forum, these folks have been very very helpful and know what they are talking about.  I wish you all the best.
